What is wrong with these people????

 

Awful steering wheel, but the rest is fine.

 

Looks very cheap.

 

Worst steering wheel ever. And the vents are too busy. I wish Porsche would try to hide the vents rather than attract attention to them, kinda like the old VW designer did with the Phaeton.

 

all the Porsche steering wheels now are hideous.

 

Let's compare witch interior will you guys feel more comfortable with (Cayman or Z4)???????

 

I dunno, I think everything in the interior looks stupid, but the wheel is the best part (everything is relative, of course).

That wheel certainly wouldn't fit aesthetically in our cars, but I don't think it's BAD wheel either. Which isn't glowing praise for a Porsche...

I always thought the Mk4 VW R32 had a very nice steering wheel.



Very nice, attractive, businesslike interior, too.

I think the Audi RS4 has an even better interior, although not as good a wheel.



Now that Porsche is becoming one with VAG, I really hope Porsche will re-learn how to design interiors

 

Eeek, that looks unbelievably cheap and tacky!! Shame VAG, shame!!

 

I sat in a Cayman S. The seats are heavenly. The shifter and e-brake look and feel nice. Everything else is crap.

My opinion of the z4 is pretty much the same. But I don't remember the seats; I'll assume they aren't as nice as the cayman seats.

You want a nice interior in a current model? The 2010 miata. It looks and feels great, and you can just tell the quality of the materials and upholstery is better than the norm. I highly recommend at least sitting in one the next chance you get.

 

Corvette ZR1 interior.


What do you guys think about this one? I am a member of the styling-design team at GM, although, I have not worked on the Corvette program and had nothing to do with this interior. I'd be more than happy to take your thoughts to work as a Porschephile's comments would be most helpful for the next gen interior.

Very effective alternative to bad styling IMHO. I think I could get used to it.

 

I gave somebody a ride in my 2010 RS the other day and they commented how ugly the steering wheel is. Come to think of it I have a RS4 and a Z06 in the garage too, maybe I'll switch the wheel out

 

What, the RS4 wheel? Or the interior?

I haven't sat in a 2010, but I HAVE put in a lot of miles in a 2005 MazdaSpeed Miata...I love the car, love how it drives, love the exterior styling, and the overall design of the interior isn't bad...but after the very first drive in it, I thought "everything in here feels like a toy, not a real car". And that cross-hatch veneer, maybe it's supposed to be "carbon-look" all over the place? I swear Mattel is responsible...

More fun to drive than a barrel of monkeys, though. And I've had some real adventures with those monkeys.

Not outstanding, but not bad, either. It's a perfectly good interior for a car that nobody is buying with concern for the interior.

Okay, I admit it, I love EVERYTHING about the E39 M5. But the interior is definitely one of the best parts.

 

Are you saying they put the "Bangle-Butt" on the inside of the cars too??
