I would like to know that too but I don't have access to a dyno. It also might not be relevant as my engine has a lightened, knifed edged, balanced crank - RS Barn cams, Been sleeved, JE pistons, ProMax chip, head has beed ported & polished etc etc

Nothing special to say ! The assembly was quite simple but tuning of the FMU without fuel gauge can be a problem
I haven't any gauge on this car except the AFR... So, I'm not sure that the car is well tuned

I've just made a road test today (Within 5000rpm & in gear 3 )... The power seems really high. It looks like a Turbo engine but without any lag ...

Normally, I will bring the car on a sunday track session in two weeks ...

For those with non-air-conditioned (factory delete) 968's... I have two of the necessary alternator mounting brackets in stock that will allow you to move your alternator up and use this supercharger kit.

I have removed some parts of the air conditioning system which is now unworking. I woulk to remove the AC compressor so I can be interested by this alternator mounting bracket kit...
Can you please tell me what are the required parts to make this mod. ?
Thanks

Butzi:

On a 968 that has had air conditioning from the factory, the alternator is mounted "high" and the AC compressor down low. Removing the AC compressor on these cars, and leaving the alternatror where it is, works just fine with our SC kit. All you will need is a shorter belt than the one we provide.

On a 968 specially ordered from the factory without AC, like a Club Sport for example, the alternator is mounted down where the AC compressor is on your car. To use this kit, you need the Alt/AC bracket from a AC-equipped car, and to relocate your alternator to the "high" location. Then it all works again.
I have 2 of these brackets (used) in stock for those that need them.

This would be the first time someone with an AC delete car would be compelled to install an AC bracket!

That`s what I`ve had to do with my UK 68, as air-con was rarely specced.
Still patiently waiting

Got the kit last Tuesday 20th, though still waiting for injectors, volcanoes
Fitted it up to get a belt measurement, bearing in mind this is a non a/c fit, so have retro-fitted an a/c alternator bracket, to get the alternator high up and belt travel to the SC pulley.
The problem now is getting belt tension, as there isn`t any now, with the relocation of the alternator.
We are working on a solution to be able to use an adjusting rod from the alternator to a mount where the a/c compressor was, to be able to swing the alternator out and up, thus getting belt tension/adjustment.
So far a good kit to fit, though tilting the rad far enough forward is proving a problem and a tight fit with clearance, also getting a free weekend to do anything is the main problem at the moment

Default Any problems so far?

Butzi, the 968 looks like it pulls pretty hard on the track. Have you run into any issues thus far? Any cooling issues under track conditions?

Thanks.

Nice, you never see a 968 pull away from a 944 Turbo like at 0:50-1:03 in your clip.

Hi Carl,

OK, but how can I control the belt tension as the turnbuckle is not fixed on the alternator ?????

Thanks
