Default adjustable fuel pressure regulator

what do you guys think of the linsey racing fuel rail and afpr kit they do, would this fit on a 968? anyone out there got one to give some feedback on, car is mostly for track work, standard engine for now, but with airbox mod rs barn headers and kand n filter and looking at a larger throttle body this week, your thoughts are most welcome, regards pazzer.

If its the billet FPR, I used it on my turbo. I had issues holding FP after I shut the car off and had to get the unit swapped.
Just curious, why would you want to up the FP?

Hi Raj,thanks for your reply, just a thought really having read some posts on forums about adjustable pressure regulators, dave griemanns topic mainly on 968 forums, a few have upped the pressure and have praised the mod thats all, regards chris. ps what do you think about those milledge cams, i only ask because they are on my next mod along with some slight head work, no porting as we all know they are to large for NA anyway, be good to hear you remarks mail me if you like at chris.parry3@homecall.co.uk cheers.

New Zealand Mark went that route years ago, with AFP regulator, larger throttle body, extrude hone intake, and didn't see a change.

Jason, which FPR and injectors are you using for the 968. Did you notice any real difference going that route and did you add a fuel rail to this equation? I had thought about doing this myself but did not know if the hassle would be worth the gains if any?

Using AFPR is the improper way of tuning. To properly tune across the board, you should dyno tune.

Raj, I agree and I know this myself but having done this on several other cars there where benefits. I had not really heard anything about this on the 968 and was curious more than anything. You know always looking for more hp. ;-)

I'm not sure of the brand of FPR I have...it's a billet item, though. The injectors are made by Bosche...and the rail is OEM Porsche. The engine mgmt system is Autronic. The turbo is Lindsey's Super 75.

Remember..I did this all at once, as part of my turbo conversion; so it would be impossible to say what created more of a difference.

If I had to guess, I'd say the turbo made the biggest difference of any of the changes!

well after some research a good friend of mine has come up trumps with a 4 bar regulator from bosch exact same fitment as the original one, and finds the car drives a lot smoother, so yes there are benefits, regards pazzer.

Good stuff. It would help if you did a dyno comparison on the afr of before and after just to see whats going on there.
Good luck.

Would like to know what's going on in there too , very small difference in pressure, but power delivery did (by the seat of the pants test) feel a little smoother.

Unfortunately, my latest dyno charts were pre injector cleaning (and the atmos pressure was incredibly low at the time - probably making comparisons unreliable).

Anyone any thoughts re the FPR - additional 0.2 bar really going to show notible 'seat of the pants' change?

JP
