Not sure whats happening there, I am getting the same as everyone else. No distresse calls so I guess its just maintenance issues.

In that typical British understatement they have the following posted:

Due to certain circumstances the forum has been suspended for a time while the administrators make some changes.

"Certain circumstances" - Reminds me of the British army commander in the Korean War whose brigade was about to be completely overrun by the Chinese. He radioed to his American higher headquarters that things were getting "a bit sticky." The American did not understand that this was the British equivalent of screaming for help and did not immediately send reinforcements. The Brits took heavy casualties and were nearly wiped out.

Unfortunately this wont happen G96, I did raise this before with Stu on the forum and he is adamant he wants to keep it that way in order that spammers and the like do not register on the forum. Personally I disagree with this policy, the info is given freely and should be freely available, but he pays to run the forum - bandwidth and time etc and I guess its his choice. We have debated it some agree some dont.

I wouldn't even mind so much that an electronic/more convenient donation is necessary before you can post in the UK forum, but asking me to CALL international for a STICKER is pretty silly. What's the harm in letting everyone at least browse the posts? Oh well this isn't a debate it was just wishful thinking.

He is running phpBB, I could put him onto a free module that will stop the spammers cold if that is a big issue for the site.

Damien.
It might be good moderating. BUT when one gets banned from using it for some trivial reason , ide call it OVER moderation...

Moock, I only know of one or two people banned from there-and they've been banned elsewhere-so it seems like multiple moderators came to the same conclusion. Anyway, I'm glad to see Stu has the site back up and running. The less about that other stuff the better.

Its THE ONLY thing ive EVER been barred from...
Oh and believe me, there have been MORE that one or two people barred....

To be honest, i think its more a personal thing than anything else....
At least thats what im sumising, as the moderator hasnt even been in touch to explain himself......

As i was the second highest poster + aprox the 5 person to join the forum, from when it was set up... MANY moons ago.......So yes you could say ive been on it a LOT.......
+ No i didnt use Moook as my name on there....
