Default Side moldings or not?

Which do you prefer?
The protective molding or the sleek look?

rmd, I would think most 968's you see would be without them. It would be much harder to find a 968 with the side molding.

My question is why that handsome black CS has been parked in someone's reception area with its tail backed up against a sofa!!!

Thanks for the photo now I know what you are talking about. My 968 does not have but the S2 Cab does. I like without but they do save you from the dings.

I guess it depends on how you use the car. If you are going to park in spots where you run the risk of getting hit I would say yes. If it is a extra vehicle and you can drive it and park it accordingly then no.

That is the car I wanted for such a long time. I found it on the UK ebaymotors. It has been sold, and frankly if I bought it I would have put it next to a sofa in my house. Looks wayyy to nice to drive.

Ok, Darryl what did you have to do to remove the strips?
Are they glued on?
Are they screwed on?
Most of the 968s for sale near me have that dang molding I want to know that if I remove the strips it won't make the car look worse.

Easy removal, they are glued on. You'll need to heat them up and use a special soft tool but they'll come off, then some adhesive remover and you'll never know they were there. They are cheap to buy new so maybe you can sell them and make a few bucks.

Jeff, if anything they are quite expensive. I thought a set of moldings was well over $500 for all 4 pieces.
I guess typical Porsche cost cutting. Most 944 turbo 's in the later yrs had them but most 968's don't have them.
