Default Raj's new ride

I found a picture from one of the Hershey meets with Raj's new car and my cab alongside (before I ditched the wheels . . .)

That may be before I bought the car; it has the US bumperettes still on.

Hopefully we can resurrect the same picture again soon. Might be hard with the amount of travelling we both are doing. Look forward to our drive together.

Thanks Steve, my Bro-in-law is taking photography classes. Seems like he took some nice angles.

If Raj bought it, count it to be one of the best cars in the country. And best maintained.

Harvey, not yet but hopefully soon. Santa came in early this year from Sunset, total bill $2500 !! for parts. Just want to reset everything to zero so I can keep track of maintainence.
I will be doing all maintainence in the next few months, including seals, gaskets, belts, roller, ingition system, coolant system, brake system, transaxle.
This way I know when everything is done. I will try to write articles on DIY's as I go along. This way we have something specific for 968's ala clarks-garage. I will share the article with everyone as I progress.
Regards.

Miles, if there is no timeline I rather wait for my bro-in-law to take some nice shots and then I pick one for the button.
Would that be ok?
Thanks again.

Raj, did you happen to purchase this car from a woman that lived on Long Island, probably around Oyster Bay or Laurel Hollow? I have seen a 968 cab in the same color parked at the local train station (i live about 2 miles from Oyster Bay)... it sticks out like a sore thumb in a parking lot of 3-series Bimmers and Honda's. Ive also seen her driving it around and have given and recieved a wave a few times. Really a beautiful car.. the color is great inperson.

Raj...you do it the right way. Buying a car from someone who really keeps it up is the way to go and worth paying more for. My "future proof my 968" bill from Sunset was only $1,700. Just shows I've got a few more things to do. Today I'll be buying new fuel pump (just to make sure it's good and will use the old for a long trip traveling spared), and assorted gas line stuff....that will probably push $500. Some of those hoses probably won't be cheap but will be cheaper than a fire. I just paid $125 for a SINGLE GAS HOSE for my 928. I know they can be made locally with old fittings but I trust the original Porsche stuff to the local minimum wage guy's work.

In the 928 world there is ONE GURU.. Wally Plumley. He's unequalled. Sounds like you're heading to be the primary technical info source for the 968. Keep up the good work!

Keep cruzin' and watch out for the POSs that are on the road. They T-bone good cars when they're talkin on their cells and eating ice cream and yelling at the kids at the same time.

Harvey
