Default Torsion Bar Size

Can somebody tell me the size of our torsions bars?

I have a '95 M030 coupe.

I took the torsion bars out and went to a full coil-over Bilstein on all 4 corners...someone is interested in my torsion bars, and I can't remember what diameter they are.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think they were all 25.5mm. I know that '88/89 951S's were 25.5, and 25.5's were standard on 968's. I could be wrong about 968 M030s...
btw, I am in the market for a set of 25.5's. jimchristensen at yahoo.com email me if the other guy doesn't need them. If you have them out, they should be easy to measure.

Mike, that does not seem to be correct with US 968s as the manual states that even M030 were 25.5mm.
Jason, easiest is for you to measure them but they should be 25.5mm.

I have a '94 M030. I just recently had mine out of the car and measured them at 25.5mm.

Sorry, perhaps its just the european CS M030s then, I check the manual when I get a minute but I'm sure my standard bars are bigger than 25mm.

They all have the same torsion bars Euro and US, the CS or non CS M030 are all the same. M030 cars got their rear spring rate up using helper springs.

The torsion bar is 25.5.

I think Mike is talking about the M030 sway bar which is 30mm

Sorry

I was thinking Sway bars which according to the 968 workshop manual the 968 Coupe, Sport & CS had 26.8mm bars unless they were fitted M030 then they had 30mm.
