Same old BS with Excellence Magazine

Did any of you get the recent issue # 159 of Excellence? I know it has been said time and time again but Bruce Anderson has totally lost touch with the market and his Market Update articles are just the worst. He is so far off base with pricing it is absurd and he has done little more than reiterate the same thing for the past who knows how many years.
His latest claim is that the 1994 Turbo 3.6 is worth A little more than $52k in Excellent condition with the 993TT slightly above that and the 996TT over $70k. The funny part is he is showing a drop in value by more than 2 grand since last year and we all know that is not the case.
Well we all know how off base he is and why they keep printing these articles I have no idea. I recently looked at a '94 asking $55k and it was not worth the money for obvious reasons. Maybe $48 to make a track car out of but not in good condition by any means but to find an excellent condition 94 is going to run you a min of $62,500 today and the really low mileage examples are commanding even more. I have seen 42k mile cars sell for $65k so where are these cars he is basing his article on or is it just a cosmetic edit and calculated depreciation?
I think it is about time they give it up and drop these updates otherwise the Magazine itself will have less credibility than it already has.
Oh BTW I love the people who write in to say what they paid for the car and ask if it was a good deal. What a joke. I doubt most are truthful and how can one make a blanket statement on whether a deal is good or bad based on a vague description and price?

So he reckons that you can get an excellent condition 3.6 Turbo for $52k??? That would be rather amusing if it were true.... you can't even get excellent 3.3 Turbo's over here for that sort of money!!!
Wonder *how* he actually generates the figures you say he has come up with?

It's a joke.........I'd love to buy some of those cars at the prices he has been quoting over the years......IMHO the entire magazine is a joke........I stopped reading it years ago because I refuse to buy a magazine full of nothing but advertisers..........

I agree, Damian has a good idea although I doubt they would listen. I believe they started the thread on the 964 forum and submitted the info just for that purpose and it doesn't appear to have gotten their attention.
We all must have double secret supper excellent condition cars that are exceptions to the norm.

I have every issue from 1990 on so im kind of collecting them which is the only real reason i still get the magazine but Anthony is right those market reports are a joke!!! I have seen several of those british mags lately and they are much more enjoyable for me because they seem to have more articles on older porsches, which is what im really into.

I spoke with the owner and there is no paperwork to support that anything has been rebuilt. However, he bought it a year ago and, at that time, the leak down test showed between 2-4% per cylinder.
What's a ballpark range? FYI, it's not a weird color.
