The thread is titled "Help with this EBAY turbo?" from May. I can't figure out how to post a link to a Rennlist thread. A few posters from that thread saw the car in person while in Vegas and may be the people to talk to about it's condition at the time.

Thanks I found the link. Sounds like a typical dirty, poorly detailed black car. I saw the scuff in the lower removable rocker, no big deal. That car can only be assessed when properly detailed.

The car I bought was not detailed and the guy who listed it on e-bay drove to
a park down a dirt road to take the photos. It basically looked like hell.

Some came on here knocking the car saying it was not well mantained. There is
a little truth to that and after I purchased it I put about 10k into it. As I posted
on another thread I intend to spend additional on the car as I want to get as close
to original as possible, because thats what I like. The fact that it was not spotless
or better maintained only worked in my favor. I enjoy the car and especially
after I watch the movie.

Thanks Bad Boys, my feelings exactly. I am sure the car received typical maintenance which is usually poor on a Turbo. I have been restoring my own cars for 15 years doing my own body and paint and my own mechanical work. I spoke to Ray at length about the car, he was very nice on the phone and seemed to like the fact I was well above average on knowledge and he felt confident the car would sell itself. He offered all receipts for me to view for the work he has done on the oil leaks the car had when he got it. In addition he mentioned that the website photos of the car had been taken right after the car rolled off the truck. You can still see the scuff on the lower passenger rocker, so it is obviously a correct statement. I plan on spending 3 to 4 hours at Rays on Tuesday looking at all of the turbos and will report back. If anyone is interested in what he is selling let me know, I can take a look, send me a PM.

When you locate the thread you would like to quote, click on "Thread Tools" and then "Email this page". Then paste the http address in the "Message Field" into your message as a hyperlink.

This is probably a round about way of doing it - but it works.

I usually right click on the thread and select copy shortcut. Then paste the link in the message.

The reason you don't see the full address is because I don't have the sidebar in the left hand side. Right click on the sidebar and select open in new window rather than just left clicking on 964t forum.

Actually I have the 930 & 964t forums saved in my favourites. Also I use Vista and I have multiple home pages when opening IE.

Well, I'm always interested in you guys' thoughts and advice, because you all know how great the 3.6T is.

I'm moving into a new place in a few weeks. Trying to get the yo-yos to finish the house and do it correctly is taking up all of my time right now. Once I get in, I will make the final decision on what I'm going to do with the car.

I always wondered about all these cars that come available.....like recently
Kimo's / Samike . what are these previous owners thinking. Are they just moving on
or into something newer?

Back from RPM with a no sale, as I walked in the door and saw the red/tan 5500 mile car with polished wheels I was blown away. I looked at the black/red car for a little while and determined that I did not want a black car regardless of interior color. The trip was not a total waste, now I know what I like and dont like. Ray is a nice guy he spent hours with me. The two low mile cars I checked out are the real deal, very nice cars. That red-tan was killer. The search continues.

In my instance, the previous owner had a new 997tt on order. He knew he had something special with the 3.6 and did ask for first right of refusal if I ever decide to sell.
