Default Advice: looking for a 91-92 C2T

Ok, so I think I am going to take the plunge and buy a C2T. What should I look out for when buying a car? Any things I should ask a shop to look for in a PPI? What would you consider normal milage for a 91 or 92?

(and if anyone has a good car for sale, let me know! ...or if there are any to watch out for...lemme know about those too!)

My 92 turbo

Car needs nothing! I'd keep it but I've run out of garage space. 30K service done plus fresh oil change. Car won 1st place best foreign in local car show this summer. Will not disappoint. I have some room in that price for a rennlister.

LT1 - Thanks. I love the white, but the red interior is not for me. Also, I'm looking in the 37-43 range. Forthe rightbuyer, your car is great.

It's one of those "if you wad up your car at the track and need a new one, get one that can be street driven and insured...oh, and has 750+ hp potential"

Sorry, didn't know you had a problem, how badly wadded is it? I believe Rick DeMan is running 1000Hp out of his C2T. You may want to talk to him and see how many ponies you can crank out. Come to think of it I believe he has an 89 turbo with 3.6turbo engine and coil overs in Black/Black for sale, may want to give him a call.

Good Luck

It actually doesn't look that bad...but looks can be misleading. The left front spindle was pushed back nearly 16 inches, the floorboard is buckled and the left longitudinal is toast. Just not worth fixing. On the bright side, at least I didn't hurt the engine or trans (which I plan to sell to help defray the costs of the C2T).

I'm surprised the Short Hills Turbo has that many miles, I can't live more than a mile or so away, and never see that car around town!

Hi Pesky,
Sorry to hear about your car, you are not alone I drove my C2T into a ditch last week-end happily it was not on the track so insurrance will cover the repairs and the track season was over anyways in the cold part of Europe so I won't miss on anything fun.

Great choice to go for a 964 turbo.
What to look for ?
Some items usualy are toast on most 964turbos, mainly the CBV and AAC valves but they are small items to buy.
Otherwise I find the car is kind of bullet proof, after 30 track days or so she has never let me down. So just check the usual stuff keeping in mind that small oil leaks are common. I think (in Europe at least) that a good 1/3rd of these cars have been involved in an accident of some kind so it's important to look for signs of that and check how the repairs were made.
