I don't know.... It kind of looks cool, and it’s a nod to the process you went through. Why not try it and if youre not feeling it paint it eventually.

Here in the UK that hood would be called a ‘rat’ look which seems to be a trend at the moment (don’t ask me why???). So you could leave it as is, and some folk would think it cool lol!!!
On a more serious note, I think your doing a great job, and the car will be a credit to you. Well done!
Btw, what brand of clear are you using, and what spray gun. I’m asking because the finish looks pro.

Drifting
We also have this crazy sub culture going on over here in Australia were you have to make your early Air cooled 911 look like a beat up junker with different colored panels , rust , exposed auto filler and loads of patina, riding on skinny steel wheels with crappy old tires ,and dropped to the deck ...................I just dont get it

I am using Axalta Cromax paint system. As for the gun a cheap one I had painted my own motorcycle several times over 30 plus years so decided shoot I can do this I’ve got better with each panel 😁😎

Clear over the patina. You can always paint it later.

Convinced
Yea I’m convinced I need a better sarcasm emoge imoge what ever it called. There is no way Id leave Talia’s hood that way after all the work I have put in it. The responses did make me laugh though.

Unbelievable
I was painting the Mint Gruen on Talia’s front bumper cover today color went on great 1st and 2nd coat of clear went on perfect. Here is where it got ugly.
I went into the house to chill for 20 or so minutes and apparently when I went back to the garage about a thousand lil knats flew in. Im about half way done with the third coat I see a knat land in the clear then the lil father less kamikazed in support of the first one in the next few minutes it looked like someone shook pepper on my nice clear coat 😫😫
Well now I got to wet sand the lil a holes out of my clear coat 😢😢

Bummer on the knats, but now you have a cool story to tell people about the joys of painting a car in your own garage.
How close are you to completing her?

headlight trim rings, fuel door, top sides of hood and engine deck lid. I don’t think the knats are a cool story at all😂
