Thanks Sam, Warwick and Macca for your feedback and Macca for your suggestions. That interior setup does look nice. Sam, typically I got my brands fuddled while posting on the train with rubbish internet connectivity. I meant the Rothsport shifter actually and have been in touch with FD Motorsport about them. They're short of photos but sent me this one that they have. Trying to decide which combination of setup to go with using this shift lever. FDM short shift kit and/or their golden rod. Just waiting on an email back from them before deciding. Thanks for the feedback on the coloured dials. I had found porschedials.com on the interwebs and liked the look / pricing of them so it's good to hear others have used them and are happy. Sale of an investment property went unconditional so I've got some cash to have a little passionate play with.... So a few upgrades will be confirmed now. Shift level in aluminium or anodised black look? I'm keen on the aluminium look which would also work well with aluminium look pedals etc. My current pedals are original rubber and my Momo Prototipo is black.

Black might get too hot. Infact so may silver as its alloy but I think its the better choice...

Looking forward to seeing Lola back out there Doug.

I brought Herman to work today and had an urge to keep on going North.

I suspect my Porsche track days will be few and far between from now, but there's always appetite for a long road trip!

Theres is also a Pewter finish option to the Rothsport shifter, its more like a gunmental gray color.

Golden rod will have to wait for another day.

Great work Doug. Looks lovely!

John. I hope you aren't hanging up your Porsche track day driving shoes all together!

I have a great overnight drive in mind for January - will incorporate a visit to Doug on the coast. Might be a chance to dust off the old girl for a spirited run....:-)

+1 John. When Lola is back we're going to need to play road cones again on the track.

Sounds good Macca. Lola probably won't be ready (although I'd love her to) but the Boxster will be rearing to go regardless

Adding new challenges rather than stopping Porsche track driving for good. I feel I need to race to improve my driving skills and I'm not prepared to risk any of my P cars or spend $25,000 + per year to run a 944 race car.

If the mood takes me, Herman will go out for an occasional track day. The deciding factor will be similarly paced cars attending. Doug, you need to get Lola back out there.

John. I'm sure the 2K Cup will do the trick.

Finding someone to chase is always part of the fun. Now Paul has turned the 993 into a show car I have a similar issue (sitting alone between the GT3's and the 997s etc). But there will always be new folks arriving and others upgrading their rides. The 993 will be retired from the track after Jan 13th 2015. I will not use it again for the Targa work either after the mid May 3 day tour. The GT3 will be the workhorse. Im going to have the full AIM Solo DL CANBUS + Smartycam HD fitted and hardwired. It switches on when the car moves and overlays everything. Ive got the ****s with GoPro, Sony, VBox, Batteries and remembering to turn it all on and get it running on a race day only to find oiut I have forgotten to tether my neck restraint, my harness is loose and the Vbox has been switched off for half the day. Im over it now, Im going to invest in a proper set up set and forget and will just leave it in the car and record everything including the trip to the shops...I want to make everything simpler on track day, simpler for pre and post car preparation, simpler for in car telemetrics and video/audio and focus instead on driver tuition (Im going to get more of this now) and saftey....

I've been in touch with Porschedials.com and plan to order one of these bad boys. Thanks for all your feedback on dials. Just thinking about personalisation options before confirming. Personalised is NZ$205 delivered.
