I do understand from many of you here that know these cars that its probably a $300k car if its as nice as they represent it to be.
What is the importation costs for a Euro RS into the US? Prices for these are cooling in Europe. I think this car would be worth max $200k in Europe at the moment.

The Amethyst RS on BaT brought $200k plus fees. This car appears to be superior in most every respect. It will be interesting to see but I suspect getting this car for $200k isn't going to happen. Two interested buyers in the same room could see closer to $350k. We didn't get these here so there are many who have the resources wanting cars like this.

As far as the 92 coupe. Albeit a Japanese import mileage and condition the asking price doesn't seem out of line based on the sale of the most recent C2's on BaT. Those cars sold for $54,5+ fees and $49,250+fees. I have seen comparable cars to the 92 sell for as much and more than his asking price.

The car that just sold on BaT was extensively tracked, has tub damage and is in need of an engine rebuild so in essence a dog with fleas at that price and the prior C2 has more needs than you can imagine. I consider that car a crippled car with leprosy . My 90 C4 was in comparable if not better shape when I chopped it up for a track car. To bring my car back to decent condition wasn't worth the effort. Not as bad as the crazy dude trying to resurrect the 993 that was submerged in a river for 4 years but not far off. So if people are paying this much for mediocre cars why do you think, what on the surface appears to be a relatively clean 92 C2 with 52k miles shouldn't fetch $80k or close? It is a highly desirable later MY C2 in standard color combo sunroof delete car. I expect he should sell it for close to his asking price. If you dumped $30k into the most recent C2 that sold on BaT you still wouldn't have a car in comparable condition. It would take over $50k to bring the prior one up to this level maybe more.

The current gray 90 C2 bid up to $47k within minutes of posting will be a true test of the market. On the surface it appears to be an honest nice example but there is more to it and it has its own set of ??? that I have no doubt the seller won't address or claim ignorance.

I saw that car when it popped up on Pelican. Although I was a little surprised by the price, my first thought was the history on the car. From my experience, getting the background on a car from Japan is a little harder than looking at a Carfax. PORS9 did a story recently on a 993 GT2 street car that was up for auction. They was a lot of confusion on its history. There was talk about the car being wrecked and restored. If you can get the history on the car, maybe it is worth the money, otherwise, be very careful.

+1

I agree, and if it is as solid as it looks, it's definitely worth very close to that. Low miles, great condition, and sunroof delete... lots of want there, if there are few issues.
My car was appraised at close to that number, and I didn't want to start with a high-mileage $50K car and start dumping tons of money to make it perfect (and end up way past $80K).
I'm a sucker for sunroof deletes though...

I'd be tempted to slap a hard top on that and make it a coupe - but the unique color would probably make me leave it.

Cant wait to see this show up on BaT for $75k.

Exactly. I was also shocked..... Euro-spec, Sport seats, Amethyst, supposedly 54k miles, Cup wheels, looks relatively clean in & out, no discernable leaks, runs and idles fine, no smoke, solid car..... someone got a steal even if this was double the miles. It's not perfect but the price was. Ugh I wish I bought it lol.
