The silly little question thread ...

Think it may be found on Tips only. I bought a "replacement" for mine having browsed the PET then like you couldn't find it anywhere under the car.
Do any 2WDs have it (anyone)?
Does it make any sense to add it? (There must be somewhere on the body close enough to the front end of the gearbox that would act as a bonding point...)

Burning Brakes
Z, I was refreshing all my ground straps and saw that one listed in the parts catalog, but couldn't find it on my car. Doesn't seem to be on other manuals either...

It was there when I removed the engine and box and I put it back exactly where I found it. Sorry no other info. That car is Singapore new. When I get home in a couple of weeks I will check my New Zealand new car.

Is there a trick to pump fuel into the car? I was pumping gas into the car yesterday, at two different gas stations, and both times the pump stopped before the tank was full.
Do I need to rotate the handle or something? or pump the gas at the slower rate?

Depending on the gas station, I sometimes have the same issue. What works for me most of the time is to lift the nozzle so that the angle is steeper. Other times, I have to slow the rate of fill.

Anyone know if this is fixable?
Plastic tip thing went missing, and it never really worked very well with the oddly-sized 964 cigarette lighter. Anyone 1) Know if I can fix and 2) if there's a better solution to getting this thing to stick properly in the lighter? The OEM pump connector is oversized and fits better than a glove on OJ's hand.

^^ There's a "that's what she said" joke in there somewhere.
Do you know if that makes the OEM pump adapter not fit anymore? Such a silly thing they did with the non-standard lighter hole.

Can some anyone with Motec experience tell me:
Can the scantool software and Tore's ODB connector still work re ABS & Alarm if the Bosch OEM (Motronic) ecu has been replaced with a M48 or similar Motec?
I can get the scantool to read the HVAC system and clear those error codes (yes my rear blower is not in the car thanks scantool) but I have not been able to do similar re other functions. Obv the ECU (adaption etc..) won't work.
But I've got/had an ABS light (car has sat for 8 month though with little real use) and the alarm (?) or some warning system loud beep-beep-beep if car stalls .. but can't get the ABS system on scantool to read. The lights flash and its says it connecting but nothing happens. I've read Tore and other's posts re various alternative sequences etc.. - coms are working although maybe for ABS I should try different baud. It's likely that without the bosch there won't be data but just checking in case a motec user/pro can shed some light.
Will clean the ABS sensors soon either way ... just wondering if the scantool could tell me if there's a faulty sensor despite the motronic being replaced with the M48 motec.
thanks for looking!

Regarding Reading ABS Faults at the Test Connector
HiWind,
Does your car still have the 35 pin version of the ABS controller? (vs. the 55 pin version). If so, there is no connection to the test port connector.
This was my rationale for developing the C2 ABS Test Set in order to keep my car's ABS system tested and working.
Best regards,
Michael
