Default FVD Lowering collars

I went to fit these lowering collars on my front struts today and unfortunately they are too big in diameter for my Bilstein B6 I have e-mailed FVD to Query however did any one else get these and fit them ?

ended up taking 160 bolts out my split rims to pass the time,

Not good about the collars.

Are you re-building those Krones Gaz or cleaning?

I have taken the centers off to get them painted, I haven`t totally made my mind up on the colour was going to either do them red of after seeing the blue one with the gold centers I am swithering to go like a crackle gold.

Chris do you need to get them re-sealed every time you take the bolts out to remove the centers ? The rims are in excellent condition other than a couple of small bits at the valves where the laquer is peeling and if I decide to change the colour next winter can you just whip the middles out for paint ?

Not sure on the design for Krones, but I take it the centres just "sit" into the two parts of the barrel, rather than sandwich?

I don't see any reason in re-sealing if it's a "dry fit"?

Thanks for the link Chris, I like the red the centres bolt on top of the polished rim rather than between so easy to unbolt them.

Hi gaz, as chris says if the rims and barrels are sound just pop out the centres, you can also leave he tyres on. Are you having to replace any of the bolts/nuts?

Ian,

the bolts are all good only 3-4 nuts will need to be replaced I removed the tyres as when I took half the bolts out of one wheel the tyre deflated so incase I needed to split the barrells thought it was best to get the tyres off.

(FVD collars anyone fitted them ?)

Spot on Mark, the description for the part from FVD says for stock OEM or Bilstein which are not the same thing unless you get a "stock" Bilstein for the front struts ?

I assummed when it mentioned Bilstein they would fit (Wrongly) wait and see what FVD say on Monday
