So, got an email back from the reseller, and FVD have NOT manufactured a replacement for B6/HD struts yet. But, they have at least changed the info on their web site.

Very disappointing. My plan now, to be able to get the car down on the wheels again, is to cut down the original springs. Not very good but will have to do for now.

Regards,

Johan

Hi,

Does anyone have a solution for this yet? My car did not feel good to drive with the cut down original springs.

Do the HD have standard 2" thread? Maybe I could try to manufacture a set?

Regards,

Johan

Just wanted to keep everyone posted. I received a note from FVD Germany this morning stating, "The drawings are done and the piece will go into production early next week. After being anodized we will inspect and double check them within the first week of March. So release should be between the 10th and the 12th of march."

The part number for the new B16/HD collars is 115 110 016. They will be the same price as the old. Once they are available I will post.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but will do everything in our power to make it right.

Thanks,
Rhonda

Just curious if anyone has received the updated/modified collars? If so, any issues with installation on the bilstein HD shocks? I thought I had read a post earlier this week that someone had received a pair and was going to install them.

Same here too, awaiting delivery of new units, straight swap for the old ones.
Impeccable service from Rhonda and Florian at FVD so far, and they didnt hang about fabricating the correct diameter replacements either.
Hopefully they will get a good few orders of these as it is the answer to the question a lot of Bilstein HD users have..

I'm thinking about putting in my order soon, but would like to see if a couple of questions could be answered.

I asked this question earlier in this thread, but if the collar replaces the lower spring perch/adjustment collar, won't that effectively reduce the amount of travel the shock has and result in a higher likelihood of bottoming out?

Also, looking at the collar, how will it be effectively "locked" to prevent spinning on the shock body?

The weight of the car will prevent the collar from spinning. And I guess you could assume you have a 'slightly higher' risk of bottoming out if you run into such a situation.

I´m also very interested seeing some pictures of the "new" collars installed with the Bilstein HD - and not only pictures of the lowered car. How the car "feels", would also be nice to hear/read. Thx in advance!

Got my collars in the post, but it is going to be a while before I get to them, as I am busy at the other end of the car..
