And the good news is that the spare engine is running, idling perfectly on the RS lightweight flywheel. The bad news is that I would have uploaded a photo but the upload failed..... twice. Hmmm??

Hi Colin
another interesting project, i am glad that i sent you the email pointing out this car on ebay! I miss the fun and games that we had working on my 993 mule.

Your posts are compulsive and eating into my work time! Brilliant.

They've been moving premises so he's been a bit busy no doubt!

Hi Andy,

the quick answer is no you wouldn't have to replace it and you can quite easily convert a C4 to C2 but it is much more difficult to change it back to a C4 if you should want to. PM your number and next time I'm in Bologna I'll give you a call - my race mechanic is there and I come up quite often. You may want me to introduce him to you as well, he's very, very good.

I was hoping to see it at their open night a couple of weeks ago but one of the 9M lads said that Colin had the car at home. However, there was plenty of other stuff to drool over and the new premises are very impressive.

Sorry boys, I've been a bit neglectful of the 964 project for the last few months - the small matter of moving business premises got in the way of my fun. The good news though is that we have new 964 engine project on the go and some of the developments for that job will likely be tested on my 9m64C4/2 project (I'll have to think up a better name...) and I will let you all in on these in due course. Other than that, the car is now my daily driver and as a result the bonnet is rapidly turning guards pink.

Oh, and there is a 964C4 coming to the Ninemeister workshop in a few weeks time for a conversion to a 993 C4 6 speed transmission. That should be interesting.....

Made it look easy? Only because I missed out the bit where I spilled oil over the ramp leg and floor, then had to spend two hours cleaning it up.....

I let Mark enjoy the job of pulling the engine to pieces:
