Check your engine mounts!

Thanks for this thread. Great points and I'm always impressed with Rennlist!
If I go with the Wevo black pillows, will I need to reinforce my bracket?
If I go with the RS mount, will I need to reinforce my bracket?
I'd like to get the bracket done, but I'm not sure I have the time/ energy to get to that. If its a must, I'll probably take it to my Indy.
Thx!

Mine were sagging also. After replacement with 993 mounts the clutch seemed to engage much smoother and easier. Very noticeable in stop and go traffic. Easy 1 1/2 hour job. Now I'm waiting for the transmission mount to arrive.

I'm sure I actually bend my engine carrier bar when undoing the engine mount bolts! Looks like the pics I have seen where the fixing is slightly bend out of alignment and in the same direction I would have been undoing the nut. This was noticed before any mileage was done with my new RS engine mounts installed.
So I got 2 engine reinforcement rennspeed brackets from the US and 1 second hand engine carrier so I can do a straight swap then planning to straighten the existing carrier later and weld on the second reinforcement bar and sell on as ready to fit. (Save waiting for overseas shipping etc if using renspeed bar)

Here's a pic to show just how much play I had ...
could bend it by hand!
No leak or anything else, just finished. And I couldn't notice much movement in the engine when reving it while stationary.

My mounts have prolapsed!!
I have a C4 cab and have been looking on design 911. There seems to be a different mount for the cabs that are more expensive??
Can any cab owners recommend a set of mounts?
I presume the 964 mounts are softer than 993 and RS and are easier going on the engine brace???
TIA

I replaced mine a few months ago and I was going to use the 993 ones, but in the end I decided on the Wevo mounts with black pillows. No real reason except that they look pretty cool, and as a bonus you can just replace the pillows in the future. You can't go wrong with either choice and here is the other thread for some additional info if you need.

Mine are f***ed too, although I'd swear I checked them about a year ago. I'd imagine these would get progressively worse over time rather than a sudden failure?
Only recently had MOT done, guess 'engine falling onto road' is less critical than 'microscopic defect in fuel cap seal ring'
Anyway RS mounts en route.

If you go down the stiffer mount route (993, RS or Wevo) do you then need to strengthen the engine support brace?
I'm sure I have read that somewhere on here??
And
If so, does this extra work not "off set" the original savings?
