Have got my lights apart, but don't seem to be able to separate the lens from the metal holder bit and don't really want to force it. Should the rubber basket come away easily?

Was your lens secured to the bucket by a series of thin, bent metal clips bud?
If not I think someone may have sealed them together like Ian from 911uk.
Any photos?

Can't easily remove the lens and rubber seal, haven't forced it as dont want to break it:

Ignore me, just sorted it! Fan a screw driver round the outside to loosen and popped off.
Also just an an aside, not sure on other lenses but the quality of the cheap ones from megabug doesn't look very good. Quite a few marks and lumps/bumps but guess they are cheap for a reason..
ETA -Are you guys fitting with the seal? Haven't fitted properly yet as intend to spray the basket black, but loosely fitting together it looks like the metal lip at the top of the basket sticks out too far for the lens to fit over it with the seal in place?

Fitted mine with the original seal to ensure a good fit. No probs with quality and fitment on the Wolfsberg West ones. Seal fits around as per standard lense.
Hope you get sorted![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Pretty easy to do tbh,
- remove trim ring with single screw
- There is a single screw at the base of the light (that the trim ring screw goes into) that holds the headlight in.
- remove headlight, mine were quite well wedged so you may need to use some force or a flat blade screwdriver to loosen. Unplug headlight/sidelight/and vacuum adjuster wires/pipes.
- I wanted to paint my buckets so then took the headlight apart. So you have to remove the 2 adjuster screws and all the spring clips (as chris said above take photos of re positions of the clips as they are a complete pig to put back on. To remove tr reflector there is also a small ball joint type clip that is also a bit of a pig to get out.
- At this point you should be able to remove the trim ring to remove the lens (if its not glued on as the po had done to mine..). The reflector should slide out once he ball joint is remove as well.
- I then sprayed the bucket with Matt black paint.
- Put the rubber trim ring on to the new lens and reassemble. Make sure you have the clips in the right place otherwise it distorts the trim ring and te headlight won't fit flush back into the wing.
Tbh I'm not convinced the seal is sufficient to stop water. On mine the top of the bucket protrudes stopping the lens sitting flush, where the oem part sticks out further around this. If it does leak going to pull it apart again and put some silicon around the outside.

Okay, just for clarification.
If your headlight rings do not have the rubber covers for the adjustment points, then you have H4s and these lens replacements will work for your car?
If your headlight rings do have the rubber covers for adjustment, then you have H5s and these lens replacement pieces will NOT work on your car?
Is this correct?

H5s also have 3 nubbies on the front surface of the lens, it's obvious if they are there
