    Hi Ricardo,

I've been reading your 2013 post regarding replacing the cam shaft o-rings and gasket and I'd like to ask you a couple questions before I attempt it myself. I hope you don't mind!

I have a 1976 911S Targa and have a moderately bad oil leak from behind the right cam housing and cylinder 4 head. Although I am unable to be sure the leak is coming from the gasket or o-ring, there are no real alternatives apart from the jb weld, which requires the removal of the housing anyway.

    My questions are as follows:

    1. If I use the white markings as you suggest and am extremely careful not to move the cam shaft when removing the 46mm nut, am I able to complete this task without having to re-do the cam timing?

    2. If I happen to move the cam shaft whilst the 46mm is off, can I simply make sure the alternator pulley is at Z1, remove the valve cover make sure my measurement is at the correct spec?

    Many thanks!

    Patch Ward
