Read through this entire thread last night....I'm beyond impressed!
I'm sure I'll be referring back to this again and again as I get my own car sorted out....once I get it!
Thanks for posting and updating!

Amazing attention to detail throughout this thread! Very inspirational.
You didn't mention anything about going back and putting the Porsche on the rollers to get the tune tweaked, how'd that go?

I haven't made any further progress with this yet. Priorities (house sale/purchase work/family commitments etc) have meant the car has moved a fair way down the stack at present. I haven't lifted a spanner for a few months! A degree of normality will be restored early in the new year for a short period before house/building takes over again.

Thanks for the interest guys. Sadly I haven't played with the car much over the past 12 months. With a new baby (now 11 months old !!!!) , house move, and lots of on-going construction work at the house going on, its been in storage for most of that. All being well, I should be able to start getting back into things mid-late spring next year

Hi - is that a standard 964 buckle and is that small strap behind the buckle a custom piece to help the buckle clear the seat leather?
You may have seen this thread here where I was trying to get the porsche seat-belts to fit better when used with the popular choice of southbound runners and Recaro Pole Position seats.
To give the harness release a tiny bit more clearance against the inside of the seat I removed the plastic sheath and carefully made a bend of a few degrees about 25mm from the base of the head.
This is what the buckle plate now looks like when its all done up.
Difficult to see in this image but the buckle head has 2-3mm clearance so the release button no longer fouls the inside of the seat. And nope, it doesn't stick into the side of our hip either. Its just high enough.
All that remains is to recover the now exposed part of the seat-belt (probably with some leather style vinyl) and refit the original plastic boots that cover the buckle plate.
Job jobbed
Firstly the seat-belt buckle plate wouldn't sit flush with the mounting boss, and secondly the rather ridged design of the buckle meant it wouldn't sit nicely in the cut-out of the seat. It would be pressed up against the seat so hard, preventing the release button from operating cleanly. Think I've got it sorted now
Here's the parts. The 'missing link' to get this working properly was a spacer that fits snugly in the fastening hole of the buckle plate. So i had some made up. This is simply a 16mm OD x 11mm ID x 6mm thick spacer (seen in the middle). To give the harness release a tiny bit more clearance against the inside of the seat I removed the plastic sheath and carefully made a bend of a few degrees about 25mm from the base of the head.

Rob, hope you get to enjoy the car a bit more in the coming year. Could you kindly let me/us know what make of 'ducktail' you have. It looks perfect, would love to add one to my car (also, any other info on what other fittings, issues you had when installing). Cheers.

Hi Rob
I've enjoyed your thread very much, inspirational stuff, your attention to detail is quite something, I'm planning on doing some of the mods you've done myself and your documentation including sizes and specs of the changes you've made will make the jobs easier.
You've created IMO one of the best 964's I've ever seen.
Do you have an engineering background?
The ducktail really suits the 964 and is something I've been looking into, I've narrowed it down to this one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr..._dmd=1&_ipg=50
There's lots of cheap fibreglass only ones for sale but the one above has an aluminium shell which makes it much more rigid, I'd also be interested in where you got yours?
