Hi, my ducktail was made here in the UK by a fellow 964 owner. I don't believe he makes them anymore and has also sold his car.

You've created IMO one of the best 964's I've ever seen.
Do you have an engineering background?

The ducktail really suits the 964 and is something I've been looking into, I've narrowed it down to this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr..._dmd=1&_ipg=50

There's lots of cheap fibreglass only ones for sale but the one above has an aluminium shell which makes it much more rigid, I'd also be interested in where you got yours?
Hi, thankyou very much for your kind words It's good to know this thread is still helping fellow members out - that's the aim.

As per above, I'm not sure the chap who made mine is still doing so. The one you've linked looks interesting. As with any GRP part tho, I'd suggest viewing before buying as you could easily end up spending 2x the price with a body shop trying to get the darn thing flat and presentable. For that price I'd be expecting a finish nearing if not absolute perfection. I'd take a trip over with the car for a test fit before parting with any cash. I'd also enquire if they'd be prepared to do a wet lay carbon part instead of FG. The carbon will be far more durable and stable. It would be no additional cost for them to do so and they use the same plug and mold.

Fits spot-on. Secured in two places, no movement, nice and secure.

LHS also needs an additional fastening point so I added a speed nut to the existing liner.

LHS fitted.

The aim of these is just to prevent the build up of crap in the rear arches and behind the lights. Time will tell
so are these working nicely? a couple winters under the belt?

Thanks for kind words chaps. These pictures were taken during the initial fitting. Soon after they were sprayed satin black as I dislike visible CF parts on old cars. It otherwise just looks wrong IMO.

Rob, Been waiting with the rest of the RL community for these to become "kits" for us to purchase... Its the small details that make all the difference. Your car and build is full of many small details that set it apart.

did you get your coil pack setup up and running? I'm just starting to tune mine just waiting for new fuel injectors and hoping to get it tuned.

This should be relatively easy. Thanks Rob for putting the solution out there.

Yeah, it’s been running without a hitch since it all came together. I’ve been doing a few other little touches and details on the car here and there so will update this thread soon.

Hey John, I made up an aluminium template for each side and shaped them to fit. Was then just a simple wet layup onto each template.

That would work. I was looking at the area today. What metal thickness did you use? Or is the metal just a form to hold the CF while it cures?

Not too thick that you can’t easily form it and not too thin that it distorts when in position. 2mm will be fine. Yes the Ali is purely a former to layup the composite. Once dry it’s pulled off the back. Just give it a coat of release agent before laying up.
