Default Best way to get aero mirrors

New, or used? I find it hard to believe that every person I see who has aero mirrors on their 964 paid the almost $1k that it takes to buy the kit from pelican, which is the only place I've seen it.

They are pretty valuable. Watch for used or go to a dismantler. If you are lucky you will get matching paint saving another $100+. There are basically two versions: powered and lightweight/manual.

Place an ad on this forums "Stuff wanted" and on "Pelican used parts" as well. You should be able to find a set of electric mirrors for around $400.00, manuals slightly less, and keep checking the "for sale" threads.

actually, since those are manual, thats not less. PP has the manual kit for $480 +$216, so the same price.

I would want to stay with power mirrors, so parts plus paint is still about a grand. Just didnt know if there is a common way to get them for less, since I don't envision that many guys paying $1k for a cosmetic mod.

Guess I'll try a salvage yard. Maybe they dont know the true value of these mirrors! What year cars would I be having them look at?

he said that if you leave him your number he would call you when he gets some .
