Its a quick fix, but on eBay you can buy an in-line resister to stop the quick flash from removing the sidelight bulbs.
Have a search under motorbikes as these guys use them.
I had to buy some when I had my RX7 and shaved the side repeaters

The 'track' is a quiet public road called the D27 just west of Reims towards Gueux. Lovely long straight. I'd always wanted to see it and Reims is a fabulous city, great restaurants and the Hotel Azur was €77 including use of their private garage.

Very interesting and enjoyable story, great to see someone living the dream - congrats and thanks for sharing
Being tall and lanky myself (6'2") curious to know how you're getting along with that Rennsport seat. I'm looking to change my seat (964 LHD) as the bolster on my left leg really pinches after a while.
Would like something that's comfortable for long drives (3 hrs ish) and keeps me snug and steady during twisty turns.
Popular seat to fit here is the Recaro Pole Position which for me is a son of a b to get in and out of, even if you're not drunk - very, very tight once you're in too. Maybe fine if you're of a shorter build ir a regular track day warrior. Unfortunately I am neither.
Thanks,
TJ

I couldn't find any Recaros even the SPG larger driver models that were comfortable. Im well over 130kg/ 300+ lbs. There are Motorsport ( that's the brand name) for xxxxl drivers but they looked too modern and were very pricey.
These are a little retro looking but after London to the South of France without complaint I'm a big fan. They come in many cool finishes ( like houndstooth and leather) have a steel frame so have integrity. Search for Rennsport, They were about €380 Euros each I think. I had the side roll bar angled downwards at the front so it sits just above the seat side bolster; this means you can plop into the seat easily and foam tubes keep it comfortable and safe. They also go straight into 964 seat holes and slide back and forth well. Moving the steering wheel towards me with bosses really helped too. Getting into a friend's 964 reminded me of how bad it was/ is for tall drivers
Period GB sticker helped warn other drivers in Europe steering wheel is on correct side.

Id love and old school classic but I need something modern and reliable
Me too
..and 4 wheel drive for skiing
Me too. This one is 4wd
You're kidding me? How did you fit in the 4 wheel drive system?
I didn't it was there already. It's a 1990's car.
Where can I get one?

3rd photo: its sitting here for a few weeks. Hopefully iron trellis will drip rusty water onto paintwork and harsh Provence sun will dull it

Hi Tom,
Looking great
I'm assuming Ed fixed the tacho 9 problem for you? I'm amazed he missed that although he does work some odd hours, must have been passed his bedtime.
He's making mine at the moment. It goes up to 10 and the new engine would rev up there but goes into the red now at 7,750 rpm and I want it to last. So I've decided to have the redline at 7,600 rpm and possibly a limiter on before it gets to 10. It now looks like a 10 hour clock but with 7 at the top. I was tempted to go Spinal Tap but resisted
Keep up the good work,
Paul

Will chase up Ed the dial but I told him there's no hurry as it is in France at the moment. I'd guess he might be using yours as a template...
