The wiring diagram shows the wire under the parcel shelf, so i gues all cars have one...
Unfortunately not option for my plastic window.

This thread shows a really neat integration of the led at the top of the engine grill.

(edit: bassie81, is your Speedster white? If so, it might be the one pictured in the link above?)

Kevin - Great site you've put up - bookmarked ready for me to take on the 3rd brakelight challenge when the car comes back from the minor restoration work.

I've just bought a similar cheap LED strip from Ebay. However when it arrived I have to say it looks rubbish! Nothing like the nice inconspicuous one that Bassie has used. It's safe to say the one I have will not be going in the back window and will have to start my search again.

Oh, that's a shame. Was it just cheap looking or no good size wise? Bassie sprayed his to make it less conspicuous did he?

But is the led strip visible when the spoiler is up?

The one I got looks like a piece of computer ribbon with small white plastic squares on. Altogether quite naff looking but it was only £2.50 wasted
I've now found one similar to what Bassie used. It has a cover over the LEDs which makes it look much better:

£2.50 - Phew that was expensive. Mine was 99p but not best ever and would need to be sprayed to effectively put on in reverse.

I'll probably go with the 993 spoiler/light now I've got it. Cant decide yet on the wiper delete since the rear shelf needs to come out to stretch the wrinkles out of the leather or recover.

I did spray my led strip with some motip backlightspray. Just one or two layers to soften the contrast of the led modules on the strip.

Off course it will be somewhat less brite this way.

I thought I'd just update this thread for UK owners that were wondering about there being a plug (and play) behind the parcel shelf to use for an aftermarket third brake light. My own car is currently stripped down and I've not found such a plug, so it looks like we have to tap into a rear light if we want to add any of the options discussed here.
