Indeed, I see a few people on here have done that now, seems to be an increasingly popular conversion.

Trouble is, whilst I'm not driving the car much at the moment, I've previously driven the car all year round and I've often needed fog lights here in the UK so for the moment would rather keep them.

I guess now I've bought the 993 spoiler, I'll press ahead with that. But it would be good to see if anyone does have a budget after market solution installed that looks good.
993 spoiler is a good option. I opted to keep the classic look for my 964. you don't notice anything of the inside stick op LED strip, until it lights up.

For good looks I would have preferred the actual LED's being closer together, that would have given a less bodgy look. But if it keeps the following traffic away whilst braking I 'am happy.

I'll try to get a picture some day.

This is what I keep deliberating on - putting the spoiler on versus keeping the clean line.

Yeah, that would be good to see - or a link to an example LED strip?

I used one of these:

30cm LEd strip

sprayed it with some backlight spray to make it somewhat darker and less visible.

It can be easily undone, which I find a great advantage

That is very neat. I'd like that sort of solution but I don't trust myself to not **** up the pulling the interior around and the wiring

ETA, I take it you don't find an issue with it lighting the back of the interior of the car up red when you brake? That would be distracting!

Sorry to sounds like a parrot, but that is really neat!!

It looks spot on from the outside and hardly noticeable from the inside.

Was thinking about this more and then had a feeling that in the UK, fog lights are mandatory. So had a check and from what I find online a rear fog light is mandatory on vehicles from 1 April 1980.

So unless anyone knows better, it doesn't sound like converting the fog lights to brake lights is a viable street legal option on the UK.

Can I have 2nd dibs on the roof spoiler if PaulW goes for the other option? I'm guessing you bought the red one recently being sold by Paragon on eBay? I meant to bid but forgot! My car is red so was perfect for me!
