I guess I can't help but be a purist. I spend a lot of time surrounded by some fantastic early cars that I can't tell you how many hours are spent to make these cars better than new. It is an honor to be allowed to help when I can.

I have to give Porsche credit they really hit the nail on the head with almost all of their designs and I am seeing more and more young people who have a growing passion for the lines of the 964.

To me the Long nose cars will always be the nicest but unless their the real deal variations to me just stand out. How can anyone improve on perfection?

I know these aren't backdates but something about the real deal that just is so pleasing to the eye in my book. Some of the cars my friend Pino has in his shop currently being worked on.

People have written Phd theses on wheel flares....

Porsche definitely had some that were more square than rounded, and lots of different shapes.

Here is just one thread on that topic:

I'll find some others on the Early S site for you too...

Gib Bosworth, the PO of my car, has spent a tremendous amount of time studying all this for his restorations so that he could find the proper steel flares. One of his cars here...

This is my friend Pino he owns RSR Restorations auto body and painting In Wyckoff NJ.

The last car white SWB sunroof coupe 65 set record sales price for these cars and is stunning. He is upping his game and IMO May one day be considered one of the top shops for restorations in the nation. He is meticulous and spends as much time on researching each car as he does making sure each car is perfect when it leaves the shop.

I know it is subtle but for some reason this to me works so much better. The way the front wheel arch transitions into the front bumper without the black lip especially.

Best part is every part is original to the car except the rubber lines and some small bits that could not be restored.

These parts belong to the car on the dolly in the background and were in awful condition. Welded the damaged areas and finished in the original factory black.

Anthony - I asked this in another thread, but is that a factory 2.1 RSR Turbo, or a recreation?

AFAIK this is original and has been campaigned for many years with many changes over time. It has not been raced in about 10 years AFAIK. We will be stripping the entire thing down and restoring it to the customers specifications. When it is done it will go into a collection and raced at historic races. It does have a 2.1 RSR turbo engine which is being restored.

Incredible. AFAIK only 4 were built - would love to see more pics as the restoration progresses!

Will see what I can do. The roll cage is very different than anything I have seen. It has clearly been heavily raced.

Absolutely speechless! Fixing the original parts is far beyond anything I have ever seen. I can only wish I could get my Targa to this level.
