Singer and now (back at it again) RUF.
It's a small market, so there's not much danger, but stock 964 are becoming rarer by the minute.
Very true. There was a post talking about someone making 356 lookalikes out of the 964. The numbers are shrinking.

Looking at the RUF cars, they made them look more look like Gbody cars based on the rocker/longitudinal.

I think it's cool how as old as these cars are, they are still be modded and constantly being improved upon.

Who says the 964 isn't the greatest air cooled 911 ever? Apparently they are the universal Porsche and stock ones will be harder to find than a 964 turbo S soon.

I read the post on the 356 clone. Not sure how it will look considering the differences in size and then they are shortening the wheelbase and using a 4 cylinder. I have one question. WHY?

OK, not a 964 tub... 996s being back-dated. I definitely didn't see this coming:

Doesn't do it for me speaks 996 all over it. My friend has the 1980 winning 935 K3 and the differences are quite obvious.

Edit: Car pictured above is a 997. Kremer says there's a consumer version being developed for the 996 generation.

Of course.

But a 9k 996, with this body kit and a Renegade Hybrid V8 kit would be a super fun car for someone with a sense of humor.

The K3 is such a monster. My buddies built this K3 rep, and raced it up Pike's Peak. Don Whittington currently drives it in vintage races. I watched them build it, amazing talent.

All fun nonetheless...

What ever happened to the black 930 with red accents and 934 style body parts that they built? It was being sold on eBay last year for like $120k.

It's the best looking 996 I've seen

Cheers,

I think its kind of cool, has enough to fool me for the most part. I don't know those older cars by heart though. One thing that just kills it for me is the standard 996 door, after you see that its tough to un-see.

Correct. Per the linked article, the donor car is a 997 GT3 Cup.

What are they trying to do with the rear flairs? It looks like they are using a fire gel so the paint won't bubble when they weld. But I am not sure I am assuming they are lap welding these?

Those fenders and flares and pretty much everything being attached to that car are composite, so I don't think much welding is going to be done. It's their uber lightweight 964 build.
