that fan need replacing. If it falls apart like some have on here and mine was very close to doing all your work may become a real mess.

Jim,

Pretty sure the fans ok no sign of any hairline cracks or delaminating dont see any huge issue with the pitting once its powder coated should be tickety boo

Ok so got some of my bits back today, I really wanted to do the fan silver however because of the pitting ( I know Chief I should have spent hours prepping) we felt the finish would look a bit rough and stand out more on the silver so red it was,

Got the injectors back from cleaning today which was a very quick turnaround it would appear they were still in pretty good working order after 25 years although I have gained 32cc/min which must be good right

Grabbed a hour in the garage tonight got the oil pressure sender seal changed old one was ok if a little brittle and stuck the missing nuts on this time, stuck the injectors back in the housings and replaced the bottom seals again all ok but really brittle. Removed the regulator from the alternator had a bit of life left however will be changed for a new one.

Well got the old girl fired up tonight Very Happy the plan for the winter was to strip out the AFM,air intakes etc as there was signs of an overfill I also wanted to give it a general tidy up and once over so the while your in there turned into

Fan & Housing refurb powdercoat
Intakes Cleaned and powder coated
replace seal Oil Temp sensor and add nuts to hold it in !
Full service oil,valve adjustment,fuel filter
Fit carbon heater bypass & carry out wiring mod
Injectors ultrasonic clean & tested
Fit soundproofing bar to tidy edge up
Paint valve covers and fit new clips
Powdercoat one tinware replace other with new
fit engine bay labels

Sure I have missed some bits wanted to get some bits replated but never managed ( just cleaned up the alternator strap)

so took the DME out turned it over a few times got some oil pressure/fuel put the DME back in fired up first time
Very Happy

so started with this and ended up with below
