Just got the 964 painted with a fresh coat of Guards Red. At the same time I decided to change out windshield due to the old one being very pitted.
Well I purchased a OE seal (not Porsche) from a large Porsche parts company. When I picked up the car, I was shocked about the gaps in the seal that cannot be right. Please look at the pictures and let me know if this looks like a seal design issue, installation issue, or something wrong with the windshield.
In my experience, the original Porsche glass and seal are the only way to go. Costs about 2X but worth it for the fit. You also want to avoid the inevitable rust spot below the windshield from a poor fit.

Just went through this myself. Even with a genuine seal and glass I has a gap on the right hand upper corner as the gasket will tend to shrink.
I fitted a 1/8 inch diameter nylon cord under the gasket to hold it up and stretched and attached the gasket to the roof with for Blue Tak. Worked like a charm.
I had a similar issue. Bought a seal from Pelican. It was a piece of junk. Never got it to fit right. Eventually bought a Porsche seal and a new windshield (not Porsche). Interesting thing is that they accidentally tried to install the new windshield with the old seal, couldn't get it to fit right. The new Porsche seal worked pretty well but I eventually had to rework it back into place (bashing with my palm).
Can you post a total pic of the screen as I can't see in the pics if you have the black band at the bottom of your glass as if not you have a 930 glass in there not a 964 glass....
I have a new seal after rust repairs and it also seems slightly too small in one or two places- the rubber 'skirt' doesnt quite meet the outer metal and falls into the gap. I'm trying to decide on making do with blu-tac or going for a different seal supplier and trying again.
Mine is no where as bad as your pictures though - your seal looks nowhere near big enough! The skirt of the seal should be sitting on the outer face of the metal all the way round...so my vote would also be that you have a seal for the wrong model 911. It looks like you would get more wind noise with that set up too.
May be pre 1989 911 glass, which is a fair bit smaller than the 964 glass, fitted with a 964 seal.
I think its the glass that you will need to change at this stage not the seal. You may still get the seal popping in at the corners a little, much less so than right now though, at which point the dumdum/cord comes in to play to pad it out.
Thanks for all the replies. Anyone know if there is a sure way to know if it is a 964 windshield vs an earlier model? I bought this off a guy on Pelican that had it posted for a 964. I would hate to pay a fortune on a new glass to find out it was the same.
I did go ahead and place an order for a new Porsche seal.
Measure the height and width of your windscreen, if you can get a tape measure to the edge. Post the sizes on here and someone who has their windscreen out can compare sizes.
Had mine out recently put put it back with original seal, so no problems.
