964 spotting in Montreal (and ALMS at Mosport)
The family has been spending the last month in Montreal. What a wonderful city! It's also been a bonus to escape the oppressive North Carolina heat and humidity, but I really do miss my 964. In the weeks that we've been here I've only seen two 964s. Now that might not seem totally strange for most cities, but what has been amazing is the number of 993s I've seen. In my daily travels I see at least two a day (20+ sightings)! I've seen a couple Turbos, cabs, Targa, and lots of coupes. Beautiful cars for sure, but didn't anyone up here buy a 964?
My Canadian trip happened to coincide with the ALMS show at Mosport. Finally, at a race track (where all sports cars look great), I finally saw some 964s! Feeling better already.
Red must be the fastest color??!!
Pfaff Tuning (no affil) has there newly completed '90 C2 project car on display. It's a great sign when a large tuning company that usually just does current late model cars chooses to mod a 20+ year old car. Just stunning with a fresh engine and paint job. They went for the "stanced" look with 18" Rotiform rims (ft-225, rr-245). It looked amazing, the definition of simple elegance! (I liked the dark vinyl wrapped tails!)
I stared at this car for so long I had to get the t-shirt!
And another red 964 that probably wished it was on the track with the ALMS cars!

The new Boxster looks fantastic also. Wow, it really does look like a Carrera GT!

Red must be a popular color in that area. Nice cars, nice coverage of the parking lot.
Regarding the Rotiform'd car, I like it, but I'm waiting for the lolz when someone drops that quote that was dropped in the other thread after it was originally dropped in the original quote thread.
EDIT: Whoa, I replied before you added the race coverage!

Those 964s look great! I'm amazed how low that Pfaff car is... still not sure about 964s on 18s though.
Regarding your 964/993 sightings, I just completed a 12000 km road trip through the US and Canada and saw very few. Grand total of 6 911s in 25 days, and not a single 964 or 993.

Hey I recognize that car LOL. Hope that you are having a great trip, and enjoyed the ALMS race...we always get a big turnout for the weekend. How long are you in town for? Send me a PM if you are still around.
Cheers,
Chris
