Yeah, with either de-cat or g-pipe you'll probably be OK, but with both you may be tipping over 101db.

Are you talking about your own car....or someone with a turbo?

Sorry. A typo that I missed. My car. 964 with G-Pipe and decat. I still have the cat so I suspose I could get a garage to refit it for the track day if I am likely to fail the noise test. Or get one of those bolt-on silencers.

If your tail pipe is round, I would go for the decibel devil bung. It worked really well on Cheeksyboy's 964 and is a lot less hassle than re-fitting the cat.

Make sure you put it on before you go because they noise test you at the gate when you arrive.

Damn. My tip is oval. Is there a solution for oval tips (it is also cut an angle so the top edge sticks out further back then the bottom edge)

hi Billy

My tip is also oval, but there's plenty of clearance on the top and sides to enable the decibel devil to slide down inside the tail pipe and take out some of the 'noise' from the exhaust. There are some pic of it fitted in my exhaust on page 6 of this thread.

Suggest you go to their website and take some measurements off your car and compare to their fitting guide.

http://www.decibeldevil.co.uk/content/fitting

It dropped my reading from 108db to 103db at Oulton a couple of months back.

I'm in no way affiliated to DD, but a happy customer who was able to get on track as a result!

Cheeksyboy - thanks! I have spoken to the Decibel Devils guys and they are going to measure up and see if they think it fit. A 5bd drop would be great.

Had same issue with DD as my exhaust is also oval shape. No chance it was going to fit. So returned it for refund. Didnt have an issue with Brands or Donington (ok small issue there). Mine measures about 101 on static as the nice chaps at the Nurburgring informed me of before black flagging the car at the entrance gate and not allowing us on..........

For not considerably great expense it's possible to get a round tail pipe that would take the DD:

pretty sure i just have the g pipe. I think Frank has decat and g pipe (though am sure he will correct that if wrong) and he measured 104DB static on same day
