Since I'm relatively new to this forgive me if I'm passing on old info, but just contacted competition car insurance who insure me currently and 2 days at Spa run by BaT would be covered under their standard policy (which covers 5 track days a year). I'm not here to sell their insurance, just to let you guys know of an economic way to insure the car and get this trip covered.
Can anyone advise me where to get European breakdown cover for a 21 year old car? The cars age seems to rule it out of most policies.

As an update re the group booking. Latest below from BAT for event next year.

We probably won’t get firm dates at Spa until November, but we always get the 2 days after the Spa 24 hour race, which tends to get confirmed around September time – keep an eye on the FIA.com website for confirmation of the 2013 calendar.

So I think best to wait until confirmation of dates given the above as Jonny at BAT needs this before he can make the dates public and start to take bookings.

Looks from the confirmed attendees list that the hotel is full already.....and that we're going to need a longer train than last year!

I'm easily confused but the Spa 24 hour race 2013 is provisionally booked for 28th July 2013 on 'autosportcalendar.com'. Is the suggestion our trip would move from March to July? If so I'll need to book the family holiday around this trip - don't want to miss Spa!

You can ignore the bit about the Spa 24 hour race. Jonny got confused and thought we were after a July date. BU has since cleared this up with him. The trip will be late March (as per last year).

I have just contacted Jonny at Bookatrack to start a group booking for this and have requested a "good deal" commeasurate with what we got last year (1 day @ Spa was about £250 and 2 days inclusive was about £450ish with some garages at the track thrown in for free). I will come back with the group booking name once i have it and people can start to put their names down as a placeholder until the final date is confirmed (indicative date would be late March).

I will let you know at the earliest
