Default 16 days parked...opinions?

I leave tomorrow for a week in London and I havenīt used my 964 since last sunday
I was planning on driving it today but we have rather big volcano ashes clouds looming around Buenos Aires and so decided to take the Jetta instead.
What do you think: My car has the battery always disconnected when it is parked at home, should I start the engine for 10 minutes today and maybe move it a little or is better to wait till I return in a week and drive it properly.

Your opinions are always needed

Never start any car unless you are going to get it through the full heat cycle without the cam under stress (i.e don't let it idle for extended periods just to warm it up).

If you are going to drive it through the gears and not allow the cam to just idle then fine, otherwise leave it till it can be run properly. IMO

Agreed. Wait. I park my cars for 4 months during winter (salted roads) and they do fine.

What exactly is the concern here? The battery draining itself?

I'm about to leave mine parked for a couple of weeks (last driven on Thursday). I've left it parked for over a week before without any negative consequences, that i'm aware of at least. Battery connected and all.

EDIT: I remembered a negative consequence. The drip of oil accumulates nicely onto the concrete under the car, lol

personally if I were you...in my humble opinion.... I would ship it to me in michigan and just go buy a different one when you get back from London...I am quite sure my wife would drive it and it would not sit, it would probably be better for the car and your own peace of mind...PM me and I will send you my address for shipping...besides my wife always did like silver cars and we would all be much happier in the long run....and don't thank me....I'm always glad to help out

I don't understand why you cannot idle your car because .when I leave the 1990 C2 with batt disconnected I need to plug my PST2 tester & do system adaptation. Otherwise the car will stall at every junction stop sign and idle rough. The system adaptation means I need to leave my car at idle until it has reached operating temp otherwise the system adaption program will not release for me to reset calibrate the oxygen settings etc. I have always left my car at idle for 20 mins at least to do this DME reset.

+1. If ever I disconnect the battery I let it run for at least 20 mins before I go anywhere... That said, I DO go out and drive it afterwards.

Just arrived to London, great city!!!! since my room is not ready yet I went for a walk - my hotel is near Hyde Park- and saw, in a 30 minutes walk, 2 Aston Martins parked in the street!!!! also a 944 S2 and a couple of Caymans.
After a nap I will go for a longer ride

I just get in mine and drive. It will reset itself. Never had a problem doing it this way.
