Default Saved by a spare DME Relay this morning!

We'll, after having a spare DME relay in the car for years, I finally had to use it this morning!

I think to carry a spare with you is about the best bit of advice for any new or current 964 owner!

+1 - I had a DME fail while I was at a DE weekend. Fortunately, it failed while I was in the padock. I swapped it for my spare and was able to finish the rest of the weekend.

Like I was tollin you before I have a spare DME and the jumper I want to fuse the pump thinking its about 15 amp draw on the pump not sure also would like to fuse the other but have not idea on what size that should be.
Ya never know what kind of gremlins are out there I should take my Gremlin Bell off my bike and hang it on my car then all would be great no worries ....

I picked up a spare relay this afternoon. Hopefully I won't have to use it, and if I do have to use it, hopefully it'll be what it takes to get me back on the road.

Default spare DME relay saved me

Car just felt like it ran out of gas. It would not restart. I put in the spare DME relay and it runs great. I have had the spare 5 years.
Thanks to the forum for the suggestion.

Make sure you test that spare before you need it, I had a OEM relay that was bad right out of the box!

Both hot lines should already be fused, so I'm not sure what you'd gain from having a fused jumper; removing the relay won't eliminate the fuses.

I bought two spares from Pelican the day after I bought my car because of this site. I'm glad you had one when you needed it!
