Looked like a great day, shame I could not make it as I have the inside of the car dismantled for my harness fitting project!

Frank, as you know I like to keep things as Porsche intended so am trying to fit the harnesses to the rear parcel shelf. This however is not without a load of head scratching as I have no source for guidance!
My plan so far is to fabricate a piece of steel box section that will be bolted onto the rear shelf using the current 4 belt mounts, this I will use to attach the anchors for the harnesses.
The rear shelf can then be covered in carpet and it should look factory!

:James,

Is your rear bumper centre section a genuine RS part? If not would you mind telling me where you got it, design911?

Thanks, great car (in the best colour!!)

From the pictures looks like a very nice meet with a bunch of fellow 64ers that day. The cars look fab and nice to see there getting used especially coming to these climates. Winters biting in soon, will there be any more meets?

Keep the 964 dream alive boys!

Cheers. Not sure about the bumper as it was on the car when I bought it. See above for more relevant info...!

Have emailed you Tony, cheers.

Sounds interesting! Look forward to seeing the results!

I thought the rear shelf already has 4 bolt holes where you can attach the harness's. These would be under the parcel shelf, would necessitate 4 bolts to locate.

You are right in that there are 4 nut anchors there, however 2 are for child seats and am not sure if they are up to the job! The other 2 are obviously ok as they were intended for the rear inertia reels.

Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. I wish I had looked at your car harder last time i saw it as am sure you probably have this set up already.

Harness's are clipped into these bolt holes for a lot of 964 Lightweight's and 964 Track cars using the harness option. I have these 4 holes in use for my 993 harness, along with seat belt anchor points for the 4 point harness.

The cars with welded cages, N-GT and Cup's use the roll bar directly behind the driver to anchor the harness, as per factory set up.

So it would seem you could consider using these existing bolt holes, rather than engineer an alternative solution.

There must be a fellow 964'er on here that has stripped or have stripped the inside of a Carrera to verify the above?
