As I said, the car was moved literally next door to JJ's garage-R Tek Motorsport, where he was able to give me a hand to take the dreaded loom!!! Patience and a lot of fiddly work, me thinks!

For the first time of fully stripping one of these, it was daunting with JJ

Am not sure how long it would take you guys to actually strip the whole front trunk of the car, but with most of JJ's help it took the whole night! It started with odds and sods bolted down such as the tank strap, then a couple of bolts in the fuse box before taking out the loom firewall(only done when the tank is out), bolts to the petrol tank (obviously petrol pumped and drained out 1st) then release the petrol pump from underneath and a few bolts before releasing the tank. Its fitted tight, but pulling it out take a little shuffle to and back, sliding it out diagonally.

All the fluids need to be drained on the left bottle with brake and clutch before undoing all the pipework.

I wont bored you with all the details, unless you want me to go on and on. The ABS unit and all miscellaneous pipework was all taken out carefully, as there was a lot of clips and SO MANY tie straps.

This is JJ

Well done Norm. Removing the loom would fill me with dread especially since my car has had two or three aftermarket alarms fitted to it in its life. Have you found similar complications with yours?

Steve, its scarey disconnecting all of the plugs and removing the loom from the car, for safe measure we took a lot of photos.

Ideally, the loom could do with a tidy up, removing unwanted points such as rear wiper motors, electric windows, sunroof motor, cabin light, etc.

But what you touched up on about unused alarms, ive found one!!!! The car has the factory immobiliser and an alarm that doesnt work. Love to remove it! Why have you removed all yours?

No, I'd like to but I have that fear that if I started removing unwanted/redundant wires something will go wrong so I've taken the approach of.....if it works, don't mess with it.

Hi guys, sorry for the late update with project Amazon due to personal issues behind the Porsche Scene.

Anyway, heres the progress with the car so far......

Last bit of horrid glue to face....

Cleaned and done....

Then most of the dash.. (sorry for the quality of the photos taken with the phone for convenience)

Before the cage was put in and aligned, bits that were in the way for the cage was deleted....e.g rear seatbelt points, rear seat brackets as you can see below..

Then Neil kindly removed all the unnecessary bits..

The cage was placed and aligned up and spreader plates made up...
