They don't really weigh much at all, but looks loads better, very RS. I guess if you remove the inner wing mounted washer bottle and re-plumb so only the 1 litre bottle under the bonnet is used then a fair amount of weight is to be removed. I reckon that's next on the list, Lee?

Some small updates.....

Car has gone in for:

Full cage
Sunroof delete
Harnesses
Lightweight rear glass

Some new bits too, the car did have a dark blue interior.

Getting there!

Update pics from the cage install, the car is at ETA motorsport at Brands hatch who came highly recommended.

I used them for something on another track car and have been very pleased

That's quite a cage

Have you found any ready made bolt holes in the tunnel for harnesses? I'd heard from someone that some C2s had them put in by the factory and am wondering if this is a myth?

Hi Boxsey

I dont think there is, but would need to have a proper look. Have not got that far yet.

Sunroof is getting sealed on Mon/tues and then paint. I have ordered Scroth harnesses so will confirm soon

Fun project. I want one!

Could get rid of the full parking brake system and use a line lock like the special C4 light weight did.

I belive they also droped the ABS for a more conventional ballance beam style braking system. Not sure if the 4wd system makes the ABS a bit reduntent or if we might be faster with the factory street style 3 channel ABS.

Thanks Keith and yes it is a fun project.

I have been doing loads of research on the original cup cars and want to keep inline with these specs just with more modern suspension.

Undecided on interior colour at the moment. the options are

Body colour
Gloss black
Dark flat grey

hmmmmm......

Hi mate, that is a pretty serious looking cage! Can you still fit a passenger seat? I will be pretty upset if I can't get a passenger lap.

I vote dark flat grey for the interior colour.

^^^
shoulder harnesses not good, the angle to the floor is wrong, they need to be nearly perpendicular to the point that they pass through the seat, they should be wrapped around the horizontal tube on the rear x brace, bit the angle appears a little low still...

Hi this is not my car, I plan to use the harness bar on the cage.

Thanks anyway

Cheers
