BTW ... dont go for suede .. mine is starting to get greasy after a few months! ... luckily the OMP Superturismo is also available in leather although I just wish I'd bought the leather not suede.
I think when you go for the suede wheels you have to consider wearing racing gloves all the time because as you say grease from your hands quickly contaminates the wheel.

I am looking at the top mount options for my car also.

How does it ride on those monoballs as opposed to a firmer rubber top mount ?

I imported 2 sets. I may be able to sell you a set if my pal does not want them.

The ride on mine is no where as firm as I thought it would be.

There are some pics on my site www.cagedcar.com

Question

Hi Lee,

What hardware did you need to mount the SPG seats? Did you use standard Recaro mounts and runners?

I'm looking to fit a SPG in my RS (better fit for me than the standard seats), but I can't figure out what parts I'll need other than the seat itself.

Thanks,
tat

Hi Tat,

You will need the side mounts from Recaro or Southbound. The Southbound ones sit a little lower but I went with Recaro which is what the Cup spec RS had.

You will also need Recaro runners unless you want fixed position.

2 x Recaro SPG's
2 x Sidemounts
2 x Runners

Let me know if you need anymore help, I can get good prices on these.

Cheers

Lee

Hi Lee - thanks! I'm only going to change one seat. I've bought a SPG and a pair of sidemounts, but I've found that the sidemounts won't fit on the standard runners - the bolt holes are in different places.

So I guess I need a set of Recaro runners. Will these bolt directly into the car without modification? The standard runners attach to the car with 3 M8 bolts each side - one at the front and two at the back.

Really appreciate your help!

Hi Tat,

The Recaro runners will bolt to the car without any mods. Mine are fixed at 4 points to the car.

With the items I have listed you will be fine.

Let me know if you need any further info.

Cheers

I bought the sidemounts and runners from Southbound (who Lee mentions above). The runners were original Recaro items but even here, Southbound had drilled extra holes in the runners to make them fit the car. So some modification may be required and may explain that every time you see recaro runners advertised on-line, they specifically state 'not for Porsche'. HTH.
