Oh, don't be sad. You never know, the owner may volunteer to take it on a World Tour.

Hi Colin, is it time to show off the full paint work and lines of her fabulous body? Got a small preview of her curvy rear at "9m93RS Narrowbody Clubsport - bodyshell preparation".

Shiny!

Bonnet & bumper were lacquered first.

The trick with lacquer is to allow sufficient thickness to flat down across the step from the basecolour to the graphic, hence whilst the step can still be seen in the detail photo, after flatting and polishing it will disappear.

One point of interest to note is that the laquer flows differently on the solid colour (gulf blue) and the basecoat (graphic), so if you look closely the finish on the graphic is not quite as shiny as rest. Again, not a problem as we get a perfect finish all over with machine polising.

Very nice! I like the way you have used a metallic orange colour for the middle rather than the oldskool matt orange for a modern twist.

What sort of colour is the Orange?

The boys flatted the car & spoiler, then fully masked the car before Marc blew on the lacquer. Apparently applying the paint to a 911 roof is particularly difficult because paint tends to build up around the gutter rails, so you have to paint them from the opposite side first otherwise the top edge is left with a dry finish.

The spoiler was painted later within a batch of other components.

Thanks Norm. Your car is looking rather good now as well.

Orange colour? Unfortunately I can't tell you as I would have to kill you afterwards....

Currently clearing the decks in the 9m Racing build shop in preparation for bringing the shell through & starting on the build, however we should be fitting the closures this week before it comes out of Panelcraft.

My god, Colin, this has to be the nicest build I have ever seen....top marks to you and the whole 9M team! As I imagine this work of art being driven in anger I keep saying to myself "Christ, this guy had better not bin it!"

All the best,
