Marc is painting the outer panels next so obviously we have to mask off all the fresh paint on the inside and underside of the shell which Lee has done today. The good news is that we don't have to rally the troops again for the big lift as the shell is off the spit for the final time.
We'll be painting the panels tomorrow to give the fresh paint more time to fully cure as there is a risk of the finish "blooming" if it is baked again today.

Man, I love waking up and seeing updates on this car! Colin, any plans to make a video like the 993 you guys did? That would be exceptional. Also, the quarters, how much are they flaired out? I'm thinking about ditching my Rauh Welt style flairs in favor of backdating to these. Possible to run 315s in the back?

When the car is finished we will have to test it on track before it is shipped, so I guess we could do an in-car video at the same time fro all to see - provided the circuit owners are happy to let us post the footage on the web. As for tyres, there is nearly 17" of space between the chassis leg and the inside edge of the rear arch, so in theory 315's would have around 4" of clear space to play in. Not sure how this compares to a stock 911, but it would easy to work it out for yourself with a ruler....

awesome work. Is this an "open cheque book" project (that is; time and material) or is there a pre-determined price, or ballpark price? As for tires I would think you could put 345/30/18s and 275/35/18s on it. or slightly smaller in the front.

Yesterday the shell was masked before the outer panels received a light guide-coat of black followed by a complete wet flat off. Come this afternoon and the boys have cleaned & pre-baked the shell dry, re-masked as required and we finally have the shell ready for topcoat which Marc will be shooting tonight.
