Old champion or not, she still deserved the restoration you guys gave her. And to top it, she was on a track once again, and driven in anger!!

Bravo to you guys!!

As I have said before, beautiful build!

So, by 'cars' did he mean both the Signal Green and Grand Prix White car number 33? I'm asking because it seems after reviewing the history and evidence of the Signal Green cars that the car that was 'wrecked' at Spa could have been repaired while Manthey raced in the White car and then given back to Manthey, so instead of two green cars, they are one and the same? ...

It's a reasonable scenario but it is not right for two reasons.

As we know already, the first green car was rented out for the Spa 24hr race where it crashed out resulting in the team re-liveried a white Cup for the next 3 races. I have no doubt though that as a condition of the loan the drivers would have taken out a replacement value insurance to cover a worst case scenario. A five month old Cup would have therefore been replaced, even if the car was easily repairable. After all, why would the team want back a repaired car when they could have a brand new one?

Secondly, as cofirmed by Manthey in his interview, the last comment he makes is that he would not be surprised if one of his three cars would still win a race today.

Yes, based on that, I'd have to agree, thanks for the insights.

Yes it has!!

Thanks very much for the magazine Harald, it is appreciated. Shame we did not have it a few weeks ago though - it would have saved us a lot of guesswork with some of the graphics....

I randomly stumbled onto this U-Toob video last night...
http://youtu.be/23kI65vaEus

Manthey rocking it in 1990 in a Porsche...and still rocking it in 2011! Go Manthey!
Here are some screen shots...

Colin,

Could you post interior pictures of Kermit? Also, did the 964 cup have different front hubs than the regular c2?

Thanks!

The winner wasn´t the real winner. The race director stopped the race one lap too early with the chequered flag. Manthey was waiting at his tail to pass him on the long straight on the last lap - everyone was surprised by the chequered. And of course noone was happy with the way the race ended. The winner couldn´t be proud of his "win", Manthey was very disappointed and the third has probably had some hopes for more also.
