Good luck with the sale. Seems like a very nice example.

Don't think I can top @jpoint amazing story of saving his 964 Targa car, but after what felt like half a lifetime looking for the right car, and another mini lifetime waiting for it to travel across the pond, I can now cross this one off the bucket list. Some light photos attached. Will post more after she completes RnR and my personal cosmetic touches. #PorscheON!

My turn……Been holding off posting until it’s in my garage but couldn’t resist adding to this thread:

1-owner (I’ll be #2) Forest green C2 Targa with special order black/silk grey full leather and LSD 😀. Couldn’t be more excited for this one. Picking her up on Friday and then the games begin!!

^ Sweet find! Forest Green always seems underrepresented on here.
Inspiring to see how much better my paint could look Gotta get to work on that.

What year is it? I have a 91 and the option sticker shows that the Forest was a PTS/L999. Data seems a bit elusive on the years it could be ordered standard vs. otherwise.

Congrats! I was wondering if this is the one you were referring to in your earlier post. Nice choice, that’s what I would have picked up if I was in the market.

There’s nothing else on the mainstream market as a non RBW offering other than the gingerly priced (6fig.) velocity Porsche low mileage one, and up until recently this Forest Green one. Glad it stayed within our RLister circle.

Looking forward to many miles with smiles now that I can spend my time driving, or modding. As opposed to looking for one online and everywhere else I could think of.

Under represented cause I think it’s pretty rare! Mines a ‘90. Don’t think it was PTS. Frunk sticker is gone but window sticker shows it as a $952 option. Interior was $1,984

@GBX your targa’s color 22E is special order, aka PTS. The Paint to Sample program did not exist in the early 90’s. It was called special order color. Standard colors were called standard.

There is a link to the color listings by Model Year on my 1990’s Rainbow color thread.

Thank you for the correction. Didn’t mean to cross terms.
I am confused by the color breakdown page from the other thread. Forest is only listed as a Special Order option for MY 1989 after which it disappears completely, meanwhile we’re talking about a 90 (GBX) and a 91 (mine) that both got it. Was it possible to order a Special shade from a previous year at any point in the run? Appreciate any insight you can provide.

Yes, for an added cost.

Two great colors for Targas. I guess these days if you can find a 964 Targa any color is good.

JAB12 - congrats on the Targa and let me say my resto story pales next to your collection.

Humbled. But you saved a car and there is something to be said about that!
