A couple of weeks ago I received my refurbished Speedlines from Jim Dorociak. Many of you know him for his refinishing work of other member's wheels. These Speedlines came with the car when I bought it and were beat to hell. Jim did a great job of breaking them down, trueing them, cleaning, and polishing. I decided to go with a unique finish. The hoops and centers were polished and then the centers were sprayed with a black-tinted clearcoat. It gives the wheels a very black-green metallic look in direct sunlight and more depth than a normal black finish.
Jim even re-etched the "Speedline for Porsche" lettering, wheel widths, and offsets that were rubbed off from previous refinishing. Here they are after removing them from their shipping boxes:

Some shots at the Northgate Target/Best Buy parking garage. Next time, I will use a lower ISO setting to minimize the over-exposure from the overhead lights. The car is riding on Tech Art sport springs and 5mm spacers all around.

Jim - thank you for the kind words. I am just an avid Porsche nut who decided a couple of years ago to take on the challenge of these unique wheels. Many thanks to all my friends on Rennlist who have helped uncover all the nuances needed to achieve the results. Some sets are harder than others. Some will think I am crazed as I say they all speak to me as to what they need and honestly some nights I wake up and wonder what have I gotten myself into. It is so much fun watching a set come together and getting positive feedback. Jim

BTW, I am thinking about painting my headlight rings and mirrors black. Would appreciate some opinions. I kind of like the panda look.

Nice, ilko. IMHO, the 3.6 Turbo Speedlines are one of the best wheels for the 964. I think a set of 17" Fuchs replicas would be pretty sweet too. OK, and some old-school RUF's with a little bit of lip. Anywho, post up some pics when you get them on your car.

If that's all you're planning on painting, you can use some black vinyl adhesive you can get at one of the online decal stores, and wrap them. It'll cost you less than $50 and it's a good way to test if YOU like the look.

Wow - Those wheels are beautiful, and Jim's work looks outstanding. (Beautiful photography too.)
Inspired! I've got a neglected dejected set of 17" wheels from my 964 collecting spiders - maybe I'll drop Jim a PM and see if he'll accept the basket case and get them back on the road.
