No heat.
Of course we may not have resonance issues due to the engine setup.
We have PMO individual throttle bodies DC 60 cams & Motec engine management, among other things.
Good luck.

I will take a few photos when I get back home. Mine is a heat setup. I still need to buy the hoses that connect to the ones supplied by Fabspeed to connect the rear part of the heat.

As someone else said, system has a drone from idle to around 3,100 rpms... not such a big issue for me... drone from the 996TT straight pipes was a lot harder to live with... in the case of the 964 I find is to be nice

Also got an email from Alex. He has one of the folks here in Rennlist (Scotty964cab) that will do the install at their site. We should be able to get the issue of the muffler sticking out under the bumper resolved once they do that install. That will require a modification to the pipes that go from the header to the muffler and maybe to the tail pipes.

Not worried about Fabspeed. They have always fixed the issues.

Drone? I normally drive above 3,000 RPM, so this may not be an issue for me either. Somebody else called it resonance. Are there any funny rattles from the heat boxes or is that pretty solid?

It is a pretty solid/deep sound... almost sounds like a larger motor, not resonance by any means...

And it goes very quiet above 3.1K

I've made final arrangements with Fabspeed and will be turning my car over to them this coming week. They are doing all of the following upgrades to car, new equal length headers, 200 cell Sport cats and straight pipes with 4.5 Oval Rolled edge tips out the rear. They are cutting the 2nd outlet on the bumper and Dyno-ing the car. We'll have results with pics and video.

Scott, I emailed Alex as well. If it is OK with you, we (the folks that bought the system with muffler and heat), are having issues with the muffler sticking out under the car, the muffler is also pressing against the heat pipe in the back (close to the bumper), and tail pipes that are not coming out enough to clear the bumper (not an issue in my case since I bought the optional oval tail tips, but an issue for those that did not).

Testing with your car they should be able to see what the problem is and correct the two pipes that go from the headers to the muffler, the muffler bracket will need to be modified to move the muffler just a little out and avoid pressing on the heater pipe that is next to it.

As other have mentioned, I don't think this specific setup was tested with a 964 or all these issues would have been found (or maybe the muffler was changed along the way??). Not a major problem to correct, but for someone that bought a bolt-on type of solution it is a bit frustrating.

Nevertheless, having dealt with Fabspeed in the past I know they will make it right. Cheers!

My thoughts are, it would be great if Fabspeed used Scott's car to develop the RSR Header/Muffler kit to fit a 964 with heat, it should be "Plug & Play". From what I have seen on my car, the muffler bracket needs to be a bit longer each side, so I can move the clamps outward where they will clear the SS heater tube, also the offset needs to be about 1/2" more for the muffler to clear the SS tube, and in turn the connector pipes needs to be redesigned to fit the new location of the muffler, including raising it up at least 1 1/2"; and finally the tail pipes needs to be a bit longer too. It is not a small job to make this right, but I am sure Fabspeed are up to the task.

+1

I forgot about the straps, with a longer muffler bracket the straps could be rotated completely out of the way as well...

It is coming. From talking to Joe and Alex it also seems to be very promising.

Hi Everyone, thanks for being patient while the new addiotional parts are being finished. I will be posting pictures, Dyno results and videos of the header muffler kit with all the new parts before the end of the day. The results were astounding and the car sounded great throughout the entire RPM range. Make sure to check back.

Thanks,

Here is a glimpse of the updated parts..
