Default Gauge Refacing - North Hollywood Speedometer

My new C2 had 3 gauges that unfortuately suffered from the faces peeling pretty badly. I've used North Hollywood Speedometer for many years and I sent them my 3 gauges and they just came back today. I know people have had lots of questions as to how to fix the peeling problems, well, here is a picture of NHS's work which look the same as from the factory.

My tachometer is on its way back from them as we speak....had the oil temp/pressure gauge done by them about a year ago. They do excellent work!

$100 per gauge + anything extra. Mine had some scratched and cracked glass which was $35- $45 for the glass depending on size.

My speedometer face is cracking, so I'll have to give them a call. Thanks for reminding me

Make sure when you call NHS that you speak to the tech (not the receptionist) and verify that they have the gauge face you need in stock.

I sent my clock and combo gauge off to them last fall, then they called and said they were out of combo gauge face, then they called and said VDO sent them the wrong part, then called and said VDO no longer makes it, and they would have to have them made (6 weeks). So after a month I said send the gauges back - clock was beautiful, but combo gauge as-is other than they cut off the peeling pieces.

They kept me totally informed of the situation, and I will send the combo gauge off to them again (now that they apparrently have the faces), but I will make sure the tech there confirms that they have the right faces before I ship.

My C4TL had a gauge face replaced by them when the previous owner had the car. They installed a 993 C4 gauge face by accident, and even though I bought the car after this was done, they replaced and installed the proper face under warranty. Great service, and they do great work!

Off topic, but what is a "C4TL"?

Apparently that is the problem with VDO - they now claim the 993 gauges faces are the same as the ones in the 964.

Yes, NHS is awesome. Kevin there is exceptional and totally switched on. As an fyi for any turbo guys...they will be coming out w/a clock/boost gauge combo that includes all the warning lights in clock. I've seen it and it is awesome. No more stuffing your clock behind the cluster panel and fitting a boost gauge in the clock slot.

I agree. NHS does great work and offers a fairly quick turnaround. I had around forty 964/993 clocks repaired by them - Carrera desk clocks .

Highly recommended!
