Cool 75MPH to nothing: Car died

Had to send mine to to Squires last night. Going 75MPH and then whamo, car dies, christmas tree, no warning lights at all. Car would not restart. Thoughts? Sounded like the car had no gas but I had just filled it up with premium a day before. I wasn't able to compression start it either as I rolled quickly off the ramp. Also tried to start it again in a parking lot, ran for 3 seconds and died again.

Any takers on a bet?

Maybe is doesn't like me because I stopped by the Ferrari dealership just to look around and left it out in the cold last night too.

Cars do get mad at you. Tell her you meant nothing by it (the Ferrari). Play with her fuses and relays.

I keep a spare DME relay just in case...

Definately sounds like the fuel delivery system.

Test the fuel pump by bridging the 30 terminal to 87b on the relay socket. If it doesn't whir, it's dead or stuck. You can get fancy by checking flow rate(850 cc/min ?) and pressure (4-5 bar?) at the fuel rail, but these pumps are probably pass/fail.

Update.... fuel pump died. $500 fix. You know I think it must have been lame for a while because it really feels like more power.

This it the first fuel pump replacement from all the records I had, second owner had since 20k... car now has 168k and leak down still at 4% with no rebuild... just keep driving them to save the seals.
