Default Roof Gutter

Whilst daydreaming on the RUF website I noticed that the 993 CTR-2 Sport does not have any roof gutters. I thought this was the way the roof was joined to the body. The lines on the car do look a lot sweeter without the gutter, anybody done this to theirs? The seam must be on the inside now I guess and would involve some major modifications.

I think it is a lot of work for the return. What you get is a cleaner aero body, worth some say 3-6mph at Daytona in a 993RSR. The roof is pinched to the side at the rail so you have to shave the rail and weld the two pieces together without warping the metal. Not an easy job. The worst part of it is that the rain falls directly into the interior if you open the door. Further, if you have a cage in your car, you'll find that you tend to grab the rain gutter for ingress/egress.

RUF used to do the filler strips for the rain channels each side of the windscreen...I fancy a pair of those as I'm sure they'd reduce wind noise. Anyone know how much and if they are still available?

I wouldn't want to lose my roof rain gutters though...how would I fix the bike rack?!!!

IIRC Ruf or techart do a rain gutter infill panel, that fits neatly in the channel....must do a search for one.

Yep Rob, that's the one, I couldn't find the ones on Techart anymore.

There are actually three pieces of metal that converge in the rain gutter. There are a couple of threads on Pelican showing step by step cutting and welding. It's a big job, but the results are beautiful. Just make sure you never drive in the rain.
