My initial reaction was that this must give an interesting route for replacing the Motronic but unless I have misread the info, they don't really have an ECU that suits our cars and they don't seem to plug into our looms.
However, you have my attention regarding bigger injectors and Motronic. What's the catch? If that's possible, why bother with MOTEC? There must be limitations. I know that the sensors used with MOTEC are better but what else am I missing.
All help/info gratefully received!

Bosch Motorsports ECUs aren't really that bad pricewise. The 3.1 ECU is about the same price as a M800 ECU. However, the software costs $5000+ and the Modus communication cable is another $1800.
MoTeC will control the factory sensors, so they would be the same as the factory ones.

Do you think the eBay cup chips are actually copies of Cup Car chips??? Hmmm.... Jason, I can send you one to check. What kind of equipment do you use to do all of that - it sounds like fun

If you believe what's indicated on eBay, you're in for wasted money the majority of the time..
Also, without the real EPROM file and its checksum, there's no way of proper verification
of other EPROMs.

I did not make any reference about finding chips on ebay. If you haven't learned your lesson about eBay, give it time... I'm also not advocating the stealing of copywright, proprietary information from Porsche. These are older cars that Porsche has limited support for...read between the lines...
I agree with Loren. In general, the guys who build chips won't share what information is on the chip. Additionally, often they are computer guys who can manipulate and modify the chips, but have little or no engine management skills and haven't taken the required time for testing before selling a completed chip. This is why I don't deal with chipping Motronics. I don't have the computer skills to read hex code, look for tables, modify them, burn chips, etc. myself and haven't found a good partner to work with. I also would want to do live remapping which requires an emulator.
