i'm a huge fan of color on color cars. the only thing that could have made this better would have been sport seats - almost seems curious that they didn't opt for them. love the fabric inserts.

unfortunately, the driver's seat has what appears to be a small cigarette burn. that had to **** someone off!!

Not just the damage but the literal brand that says "I've been smoked in"... ouch.

COA maybe wrong and wouldn’t the first time. However can’t see the options sticker underneath the hood. Looks like a nice car and saw it at EPE getting worked on when I took in my cars in for service a few weeks ago.

The ask on this one is $190k.

Not worth to fix IMO. My time in the 356 community has taught me don’t fix cosmetic small imperfections unless they have to be especially if they are original pieces. My 356 has tears in the vinyl on top of the dash and I don’t fix it as the interior is original to the car. It’s only original once. If I did fix it that would be sacrilege. Maybe you guys think I’m completely crazy, but I love original and unrestored stuff.

I agree that originality is always the best option, it’s just that a cigarette burn is not what I would call an aspect of ‘showing its age’. I get it, save the inserts, as they are original. It’s just a shame that it’s there, front and center, on the driver’s seat. That will bug a lot of people to no end. It is what it is, though.

Surprised considering how most posts here are nitpicking every little detail. A cigarette burn seems pretty in-your-face, maybe moreso with the Porsche print pattern. For a few bucks it's easily hidden. I don't care about most cosmetic issues, chips, scratches, etc, but a hole in the seat seems like an annoyance that would bother me.

I can have mixed feelings when it comes to this. My instinct wants the car perfect however I have to tell myself that it doesn’t have to be that way especially if it’s original or tells a part of the cars history not in a bad way. For instance this ‘53 356 bent window coupe would be a sin to restore even though it’s got dents on it, paint splatter, and it’s not even in its original color. Restoring this car would erase the history and journey it took to get to where it is today. I understand a cigarette burn is not exactly the same sort of thing, but I could live with it and would want to try and keep the upholstery original.

Yea, I don't want something perfect, because, like a new car, I'd be worried about new scuffs/scratches, etc. The first ones are always the worst. I enjoy patina and seeing all the little nuances that the roads have provided through the years.

GP White/Matador Red ‘92 C2. Has LSD and shows 57k miles. No price or current photos listed. Had paintwork on the right rear quarter panel according to the Pcarmarket listing from 2019. That listing also lists it as a Carrera Cup. It obviously isn’t however based on the production month and VIN it was on the production line at exactly the same time the US Cup’s were.

Anyone else find $190k way too high for an ordinary 964?

I have nearly the identical car with almost same mileage but stock seats, and don't consider mine to be worth nearly as much.

Asking isn't getting but we have seen some low mile examples sell for as much but usually in unique colors or options.

True enough. Mine is a C4 however and as I understand it a C2 will get a bit more, but would that typically be more than say 10% differential in price?

Nice c2s regardless of mileage or being gray market cars seem all to be around $100k give or take a few bucks.

Isringhausen sold a black/cashmere ‘93 C2 with similar miles and condition in May and they were asking $200k. So $190k for this white one probably is about right.
